If the seaborne trade upon which our prosperity depends is being endangered by nefarious state or non-state actors, why not build some special ships with guns and missiles (we could call them 'warships'), to be a security for such as pass on the seas upon their lawful occasions?

Today he was suspended from the Labour Party ……

I’ve been a loyal Labour MP for 16 years and have only broken the whip on jury trials. I’m disappointed to be suspended without prior discussion. I’ll always stand up for justice, my principles, and East Hull. See my statement below.

I am being told that I have had the whip suspended but I have not had any notification from the whips about this. It seems journalists have been told but I have not.

@BenGunnEx I commend the spirit but the Russians were advancing in American trucks and with American rolling stock. Anglo-US air forces were pinning down the German economy. Of course the arsenal of democracy only got going thanks to British (and French) funds spent before Dec 41.
