@Timgal2 @owlneverforgetu @ReporterDawn @acornnewspaper @vcstar Thanks, Tim. I was more able to work my butt off because I was single with no kids, tho. I don’t know how anyone does it with a family. Also, journos accepting that kind of pay because they love what they do is part of the problem.

@owlneverforgetu @Timgal2 @ReporterDawn @acornnewspaper @vcstar Most journos just want a living wage. My gig paid $12.43/hr in 2015. Paper was owned by Gatehouse, then Gannett. No raise in 4 yrs. I did get “promoted” w/o a pay bump once to avoid being laid off. Finally got a “raise” after I left, when they asked me back to be the only editor.

Marketing isn't all it's cracked up be but it can look bright and shiny to some. There's a certain level of personal satisfaction that can't be replicated changing industries. We'll see...
