@KFCBarstool Because in survivor you can’t transfer an idol during a live vote. The way Jeff responded to Francis made it seem like the transfer was just ceremonial and that it wouldn’t become Dave’s until after the vote and Francis was still an active player.

Why would that be a blanket statement that still applies AFTER GIVING IT TO ANOTHER PLAYER?!?!?
If Francis said “the idol dies after I get eliminated even if I’ve given it to Dave?” JDL would have said “no, idiot. That’s dumb” (no offense Francis)

He also could have given the idol to Rone or Moobs.
Frankly, there’s no way he should have been able to give the idol to anyone at that point.

You can fault Francis for not knowing the rule. But given the way the question was asked and answered, it’s not crazy for Francis to reach the conclusion that the idol would only survive if he survived.

@JeffDLowe Francis was going out because Ria&Dan were still voting him out. Francis clear as day says “if I give Dave the idol and I get voted out it dies with me right?” JDL says yes. Francis hands Dave the idol. I may cmon. Francis was gone but he isn’t a complete idiot.
