A man who brought the embassy to Jerusalem for a country that won't join sanctions against Russia continues to take pot- shots at Holy Leo. This is what happens when Israeli Expansionism isn't kept at arms length, the USA now conducting warfare 1100 miles east/ NE of Jerusalem

Here's my latest @Telegraph column: 'Singing Kumbaya at Downing St won’t rid the NHS or universities of antisemitism' (Link in tweet below): Far be it for a mere hack to explain his job to the Prime Minister, but Tuesday morning’s Downing Street “round-table” on antisemitism makes me wonder – again – whether Sir Keir Starmer has yet grasped that he is actually in charge. The meeting included university vice-chancellors, Arts Council England, NHS bosses, trade union leaders, alongside various chief constables as well as Jewish groups and the Home Secretary, Communities Secretary, Health Secretary, Education Secretary and Culture Secretary. It would all have been perfectly sensible if the purpose of the meeting had been to read the riot act to those attending, in whose sectors Jew-hate runs riot and which are responsible for the levels of much of what has come to be labelled “ambient antisemitism”. But that was not the purpose of the meeting. Downing Street’s preview informed us that those present were asked to reflect on the forms antisemitism takes in their sector, the work they are already doing to tackle it and how they can go further. This took place in individual round-table discussions with members of the Jewish community, hosted by ministers. If you think it is going to make the least difference to anything then I have the proverbial bridge to sell you. I edited the Jewish Chronicle between 2008 and 2021, and since then I have closely followed the issues around rising antisemitism. In those 18 years, I have genuinely lost count of the number of round-tables, special focuses, emphases and studies that I have either attended or read about. Many were, indeed, at ministerial level. Some were well-intentioned but useless, some examples of institutional sophistry. I recall one vice-chancellor – still in post – who told me after the JC reported on a litany of attacks on Jews on his campus, some of which were violent, that he was going to devote his time in office to cracking down on antisemitism. It was his driving motivation. Blah, blah, blah. Naively, I believed he was sincere and wasn’t simply trying to stop the editor of a Jewish newspaper exposing why Jews felt unsafe at his university. His campus is now even more of a cesspit of Jew-hate. Look across almost every sector – the arts, charities, schools and so on – and it’s not just that the picture is always the same, with Jew-hate commonplace, but that leaders in these various fields all spout the same meaningless drivel about driving it out, when they either have no intention of doing so or are so inept or weak that they cannot do so. So forgive me if I couldn’t really care less about yet another meeting in which the same people say the same things but this time do it in front of the Prime Minister. The same Prime Minister, that is, who could not bring himself until last week to utter a word of condemnation of the hate marches or of slogans such as “globalise the intifada”, which call for attacks on Jews. Not that a meeting with the same cast of people is, of itself, pointless. If, instead, the Prime Minister used it not to ask them to sing Kumbaya to each other across their round tables but rather put them on notice that they and their institutions will be held directly responsible for their failure – refusal, if we are being blunt – to tackle the rampant antisemitism that they permit (and perhaps even be held criminally responsible) then there might have been some purpose to Tuesday’s meeting. But there is about as much chance of that happening as there is of them doing it voluntarily.

@tim_fielding7 The definition of JEW hasn't meant somebody adherent to Judaism in centuries. The definition of JEW you use is derived from the slang of pogromists.
