When completing FDOT projects, it’s not uncommon to discover outstanding archaeological finds in the process! Widening of State Road 40 adjacent to Silver Springs State Park led FDOT to conduct archaeological excavations of an early Native American settlement, create interpretive signage for park goers, and install a new boardwalk connecting extensive trail networks on either side of the Fort King Waterway. Cultural materials stretching back thousands of years were unearthed thanks to FDOT’s project and can now be experienced by all visitors to the park.

𝙍𝙀𝘾𝙊𝙍𝘿 𝙉𝙊𝙉-𝙎𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙎 𝙎𝘼𝙇𝙀 🤯 The all-time record for the highest George Washington card sale was broken last night. The 1888 N15 Allen & Ginter George Washington in a PSA 4 sold for $22,504.79 (including BP) via Vintage Non-Sports Auctions. This passes the previous record, a 1932 US Caramel SGC 9 that sold on Memory Lane Auctions for $15,369 in 2024. There are 16 total copies graded by SGC & PSA, with the highest grade being a PSA 7.
