#LinkedIn became completely useless for me. 100 of contact requests a day that are cold calls for products and services I am not even remotely interested in. Overstated posts of business success and a lot of clear bullshit. Just closed my account … another app of my screen time

This is all fun and well handled, kudos for that. Yet linking juniority to such a mistake puzzles me. Here is another take: your integration system allowed sending out real mails and had access to real data. Maybe fix the system, don’t blame juniority
HBO Max Help@hbomaxhelp
We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it. ❤️

@finnlorbeer @janboehm Ich verwende jetzt seit fast 16 Jahren „Kanzlerin“. Denke das sollten wir unabhängig vom Ausgang der Wahl fortsetzen. Die anderen sind damit natürlich auch gemeint

@gigasquid It is my way to assess seniority within days when it comes to execution :) knowing what not to do also creates the impression of speed associated with seniors. They just do less most of the times

@ockenrock Of course their decision and nothing is illegal about the setup. But it you want to value diversity you have to also provide the environment to discuss different opinions no matter if the discussons can be concluded or not

@MatthiasLaug I think it’s possible. But just because you can, it doesn’t mean you have to:„to each their own“; it’s their company, they own & run it.They also have to deal with the consequences of their decisions (which they do).Coinbase is a different beast; it has way more stakeholders...

Less than 4 hours left to vote, it’s a small “n” and obviously very biased by my own Twitter bubble, but it’s still interesting to see that opinions seem to be so “split” (almost 50/50) & there is no clear majority for any position.

Looking at Twitter these days it seems like more people are leaving @basecamp than actually work there. 🧐 Hypothetically speaking, if you actually were an employee or pot. hire of #Basecamp right now would you rather...

@ockenrock From my perspective it is something I wished to see happen when Coinbase did the same last year. Kind of upset around the „purpose focused company“ bullshit. As if you can’t do both

@MatthiasLaug I know & I’ve been following them for a long time already. Still interesting that many other people seem to watch & pay attention to what they do... just an interesting observation. There are many other much larger & impactful companies that get way less attention in comparison.

@ockenrock Their founders are quite known in the tech field and hold strong opinions. It’s more about them but their company

@realkniels @anothercohen Imagine being a gay couple which is without saying a political statement for still too many people and you can’t discuss this at work where you supposed to feel save. The only people that don’t need to talk politics are white straight men. This is the group you retain
English

@anothercohen Imagine quitting because you can’t talk politics at work.

Question is, who hasn’t. Seeing a company implode in real time. Kudos to all having the courage for this step, it is never easy.
armand type beat@2irl4u
i've resigned from @basecamp

#basecamp a company I admired in their way of working - until now. And after I read this blog post from @dhh I stumbled across the section of the severance package. Isn‘t this just a lay off strategy hidden under the facade of being thought leaders? world.hey.com/dhh/let-it-all…

@ejmudi Senior on the frontend. Good API design can be consumer driven and will influence a good backend design which helps a junior to design a good backend.

@tastapod @IrisClasson I love to say “money making code” because it might not be the most fanciest code but it is the one running the business :)
