On Woltemade/Wissa... I come back to, "managers don't pick teams, players do". Howe sees far more than any of us in training. He is picking the best team to win a game, of course he is. He referenced Osula training well when asked about Woltemade/Wissa absence - what does that tell you? It's not on Howe to pick them because they cost a lot of money, it's on any player to make himself selectable ahead of rivals in his position. Yes, he signed them last summer (albeit panicked & for inflated fees in final week) but a manager is allowed to change their mind based on what he sees. If Woltemade/Wissa want to play, it's on them.

The more you think about last summer’s transfer window, the more it has killed Newcastle’s season - and will also hamstring them in future windows.
£222m worth of talent signed last summer (4 players) on the bench today, only getting a handful of minutes between them.
If even two of them had been an immediate success (like Isak, Bruno G, Trippier, Burn etc were) #NUFC would be in a much stronger position and IMO in European places.
In addition to the psychological problems when they go in front (25 point dropped from winning positions), it feels like there’s a real issue with staleness in the team.
You can get away with one big-money signing not working out…but not 4 in one window.
(NB. I think Ramsey is a player btw, but he’s not played enough due to injury).

@TodayinHistory Built for defence and Holding cities, William From Normandy built lots of castles in strategic locations. Once the cannon arrived, castle defences became more obsolete.

@NUFCLC The press wasn’t suitable, when you don’t press in this 433 it exposes how poor a setup it really is. He has no other tactic without the press we sit/break on teams, that’s the game plan. Midfield is ran/passed through it’s spread out as a flat 3 its happened for over a season.

It’s absolutely mental to me that that hole between our midfield 3 and the 2 CBs has been there literally all season and 90% of the he goals we concede is because of that yet Howe has absolutely nothing to change it, just plays the same team every week with the same tactics

@LewisBowden_ The things costing us this season in terms of his set up & play style have been an issue for years. This has been coming because of his inability to tweak & adapt his style to progress us that’s why people are finished with him.

It really baffles me how people can disagree with this.
Progress has never and will never be a straight upward trajectory. He has gave us the best day of our lives and countless unbelievable memories.

Mackems hate the harsh reality of this. Our squad is better than theirs, it’s as simple as that. Spurs beat Man City every year, doesn’t mean they’re a better side. Sunderland are having a new PL season bounce, they are feeding off the excitement of being back in the top league. But it’s unsustainable with the players they have. It’ll wear off next season no doubt. I also still think quality will prevail come May and we will finish above them once again, despite it being their best season in 20 odd years. No need to panic my fellow mags 🖤🤍

@CoachMeron Agree personally I want him moved on now. Seen enough to realise his playing style is very effecting at projecting a club to a level but it’s in any way sustainable & actually starts to regress the hard work done.

I’m not Howe in or out (pretty much 50/50 tbh).
But the Howe-ins asking “who would you get?” doesn’t make sense.
That’s the sporting director’s job. Wilson should be analysing managers across Europe based on his specific requirements.
He has the time to do this, fans don’t.

Is it ok to think that PIF aren't as invested in their Premier league club as the City group are with theirs or is that disrespectful? New stadium/training ground are easy wins when it comes to building finances yet 4yrs in..words are cheap..huge summer coming up.. we hope #nufc
