@JayViperTV Nightclub, hospital, roadways, homes, cyberpunk... 🥱
Personally, I got tired of all of this five years ago, during the hype of this theme.
Marathon looks fresh and unique, and I wouldn't change anything about the existing map designs.
English

Marathon had no vision. Its world is just more boring FPS slop. Why would these "cybernetic shells" be ugly on and ugly, lifeless, boring world? I made this update in 2 prompts to get something MILES BETTER while keeping their geometry. (lol even the arrows from the scroll)
They could have put them in a proper grungy Cyberpunk-like underbelly where they were looking for loot and fighting each other and security droids because "looting the old city is illegal."
Hell, they could have had a map topside where you're running through a nightclub, hospital, roadways, homes, etc.
They were too afraid.
Instead they put you on grass with no enemies around except at POI which are scattered. Outpost comes the closest but it's still a HUGE WHIFF of a map. Largely to blame is the basic bitch style they went with in the entire game.

It's time to vote for your favorite new game from March.

@helldivers2 My democracy officer told me not to watch this.

@Ziegler_Dev Come on, sweetie, add a PvE-ONLY mode to any map with faction-specific quests for that mode, purple/gold bots, and events where teams help each other out! Keep your casual player base ALIVE!

DUOS UPDATE: A CANDLE LIT DINNER ON OUTPOST
We're learning a lot as we go through our duos experiment and so we're moving on to outpost to see how runner pairs do when getting drenched by molten rain! Starting this Wednesday (4/1) at 10am PT, we're going to disable duo queue on Dire Marsh and enable Outpost for Duos.
Details below:
- On Wednesday 4/1 at 10am PT we will disable "Dire Marsh - Duos" and enable "Outpost - Duos" Queue.
- Players in pre-made duos will be able to queue into Outpost - Duos. Matchmaking into a duo pair will not be available.
- This experiment will run for 1 week, ending on Wednesday 4/8 at 10 am PT.
What we will be watching / listening for:
- How pvp and pve encounters play out
- How puzzle mechanics work on the map work in duos
- Any technical issues that occur
Thanks to everyone who has been participating in the duos experiment so far. It's been valuable to observe the data and hear the feedback. We'll continue to beat it up, iterate, and update you as we evolve it.

@dailyhubranx Отчасти согласен с твоим заявлением; 6 баллов за Crimson Desert - это довольно-таки щедро.

@ottrTweets It's entirely your fault - you weren't checking your back or listening for footsteps behind you.
High-level gear shouldn't make you unkillable; weaker players should always have a chance here. In this case, this assassin took advantage of your inattention.

lets go sponsor kit with 0 risk and go run at people until we kill the kitted ones :)

@Slonk01 These are literally my Top-2 favorite games on Steam right now!
I'll add @wickedgame as the third one, simply because it's amazing too and deserves a mention❤️

@helldivers2 You think a "roadmap" is gonna earn you forgiveness? Maybe from glaze divers who will eat up anything you serve up, but from those of us who play AND spend, you're doing the bare minimum still...your dev mindset reminds me an awful lot of Bungie and how they treat their players

@MarathonTheGame And finally, remove that damn geolocation block! It's the reason my Russian friends refuse to buy Marathon. Her online so good that you can afford to turn away entire regions of potential players?
English

@MarathonTheGame Just stop paying attention to the idiots and focus on the quality of your game; it's already great, but the better it gets, the more reasonable, open-minded players it will attract❤️

@Chapoooooo1213 @Humphrey_Kyeswa @TFTC21 @grok The ear is a little blurry. Looks like an AI artifact.
English

Netanyahu posted a proof-of-life video. People said it was AI because he had 6 fingers. He posted another one ordering coffee and showing 5 fingers. People said that was AI too because the coffee didn't spill.
We've crossed a line we can't uncross. The same AI tools that can generate a convincing fake of anyone on Earth have made it impossible to prove anything is real.
The technology that was supposed to give us more information has made all information less trustworthy.
This isn't about Netanyahu. Every world leader, every CEO, every public figure now lives in a world where "that's AI" is an unfalsifiable response to any evidence.
Proof of life now requires multiple videos, press witnesses, and cafe Instagram posts. People still don't believe it.
We built tools so powerful that seeing is no longer believing. Nobody has figured out what replaces it.

English

@thomasmahler @dark1x Completely agree!
I also want to ask fans of the huge gaming world, how interested are they in exploring the world in Assassin's Creed games, huh? Because, according to the developers, Crimson Desert will be closer to AC than to classic RPGs like The Witcher 3.
English

Since my whole timeline is full of people swooning about @dark1x claim that getting from one point of Crimson Desert’s map to another took a whopping 4 hours, let me share what’s going through my mind:
I’ve been doing Level Design for 17 years now - I designed most of the levels / world for the Ori games and I’m still supervising LD on Wicked, so I think I can share some valuable insight.
I always find it a bit worrying when everyone gets excited about ‘oh my god, they crafted an insanely huge world!’.
In fact, I have basically the exact opposite reaction, which is more like: ‘Oh no, they started with a huge terrain, I hope they had an army of level designers to actually create a meaningful world instead of just a procedurally crafted, empty husk.’
I know how difficult it is to design good levels and how much time it takes us to build ours - so just hearing that, I already know that there’s likely not going to be a lot of actual good level design in Crimson Desert.
And I actually don’t want to sound too disparaging or ruin anyone’s fun because Crimson Desert certainly looks insane and I can’t wait to play it myself either, but I also know how important and how underrated good level and world design is for a title and what the effect is if you have to OK huge, but empty worlds.
I’d say at this point even some of the best studios in the world weren’t able to crack that nut. Even Nintendo struggled for a long time with the world size of Breath of the Wild and ultimately they had to put hundreds of devs on it to fill it up with content, but even their content then mostly consisted of ‘oh, here’s another Korok Seed!’ and other such lukewarm experiences.
Since procedural level generation produces pretty crappy results and since we don’t have AI yet that can actually create well designed levels, the only way out of feeling like being in an empty world is to make every inch interactive. Minecraft did that and it was quite genius - but I doubt that’s what CD is going for.
I understand the allure of ‘they created an entire universe!’, but be careful what you wish for: In Gaming Worlds, huge usually also means extremely shallow.
English

@geoffkeighley Marathon.
I've been playing it for 5-7 hours every day for a week now, and I can't stop. Thanks to the idiot haters for the excellent advertising 👍
