34 million Americans live with chronic lung disease. With a few notable exceptions like Propeller Health, why hasn’t there been more entrepreneurial focus and innovation here? Curious for thoughts.

I'm excited to share that today is my first day as Head of Strategy at Paradigm, where I'll help to advance the company's mission of creating equitable access to clinical trials for any patient, anywhere.

@AntounNabhan I'm pretty sure they were a conglomerate case study when I was at HBS... if not, they should be. Rare example of making the conglomerate model work (GE was always the standard... not anymore!)

Danaher ($DHR) is really one of the best-managed companies in healthcare. I’m surprised they don’t get more attention from the B-school case study “thought leader” crowd.

A tough and sad day for a lot of very smart and dedicated people trying to improve healthcare.
I still believe in the future of this company, even though my team and I won't be part of it.
Best of luck to all affected @Verily colleagues. DM me if I can help in any way.

Really excited about Biofourmis leading the next evolution of “RPM”: RPM 3.0 = Remote patient management; with a huge focus on clinical outcomes and financial ROI. We are ready to partner with risk bearing organizations. @sacjai @ZekeEmanuel @AmolNavathe physicianspractice.com/view/what-to-e…

@nikillinit + Carbon's new deal with BCBS of Mass. is risk-based for commercial. Myoung Cha confirmed this in an Axios event yesterday and also predicted on this site that VBC in Commercial will take off in 2023.

Having left strategy consulting for Verily early in 2022, I've been Tweeting a lot less this year. I'm back, with a hot take.
This is the greatest healthcare stock photo in the history of healthcare stock photos.

@myoungcha I think I agree with all 10 of these, which is no fun.
3, 4, and 9 are particularly interesting and interconnected (as well as highly relevant for Carbon's strategy, it seems to me)

@B_Madden4 @seanwdoolan @nomihealth Love the concept of real time adjudication and payment. Would like to know how this is different from OODA.

@MatzkinHealth 100% agree. New (sometimes recurring) revenue stream.
I do worry about the incentives, though. Telehealth loss leader + pharmacy "SaaS" revenue is a recipe for clinical disaster, particularly in controlled substances.
English

@JConnol I think pharmacy is going to become an increasingly common and important item on this list, starting with med consults and prescribing and expanding to include dispensing and fulfillment. Expands clinical impact potential and financial value. WDYT?
English

@sacjai @forbeshealth Great opportunity here for highly accurate, patient-specific predictive analytics. Remove ambiguity about risk, complexity, and right level of care for individual patients as early in an episode as possible (or, better yet, proactively).
@verilylifesci is working towards this.

“Practice at the Top of Your License” is a new buzz expression in healthcare. I unpack it and explain why it is so vexing—but doesn’t have to be in my latest column in @forbeshealth.

This @seanwdoolan piece caused a stir today, but disruptive innovation theory resolves any tension.
The answer is that we need healthtech innovation along two parallel paths:
