@MauScheff Silly take. Shady people use cash to launder money. Switzerland’s banking system is built on shady people. Crypto makes this all transparent and more efficient. Hence every major US institution is migrating to crypto rails.

Switzerland has the most AI and Robotics developers per capita and there's a budding ecosystem growing out of EPFL and ETH. It can't afford to lose like it did with crypto where it had a first mover advantage and didn't convert to creating a sustainable economy.

@A_Leutenegger crypto was a distraction: doesn't solve a meaningful problem really, except for shady people who want to hide their money and the few first who wanted to get rich quick. It's so complex that tech bros love it but ordinary people will never adopt it because it doesn't do anything.

@asaio87 If he does it for fun he should keep doing it, if he wants to help others and get paid as a reward, he should instead build a beta rester community and build what people want and not what he thinks is cool.

Talked to a vibe coder guy on Reddit today about his app. He launched his 9th app this year, but no customers. He says he enjoys building the apps so much because he is using AI and can build so much faster. But when he needs to get users, feel discouraged and does the next best thing, starts another app only to end up in the same place. What should he do ? Keep building until he hits a viral app that markets itself? or just continue with one app for 12 months and spend 9hrs a day marketing it

Underrated hack for vibe coding / agentic development (dark factory style). Ask your coding agent to make a list of image generation prompts to explain your codebase with diagrams, then copy/paste into chatgpt.com/images @gdb @OpenAI

@remi_rousselet It’s good for SPAs and agents are surprisingly good at writing UIs in flutter since most public dart code is UI code I guess.

As a Flutter lover, Flutter Web _is_ bad. It's cool that it is possible. But I'm not sure I'd use it legitimately for a professional project. Flutter is great for lots of stuff. Just not web.

@remi_rousselet I like it but found some bugs with building to webassembly to had to fall back to the standard.

Ok hear me out - wine and codex. We can set this up. Vienna, Munich, Zurich - who be keen? We (that is OpenAI) take over a wine bar and invite you (codex / coding power users) to talk codex and coding.

Make it work, make it pretty, make it fast. #indiehacking #build new project in stealth mode coming soon. Before agentic coding this would have taken 6 people for 6-12 months, at least. I’m going solo now…

A bet is basically, what are the odds that if I say this, I will get that (and everything in between). You can also chain bets to make bigger bets. It’s half art half science, and some will be better than others, like better investors and worse investors.

Agentic software development is like running an investment portfolio. You place some bets, they can go right or wrong, you have an expected ROI. The more you know the subject the better the odds of your bets. You’re gambling, not writing code, to produce software.

@gvanrossum It they added it there is the risk that it doesn’t cheat anymore on the benchmark but it gets biased performance for other tasks. I haven’t had them cheat because I have no benchmarks.

Coding agents cheat! I had it write some code and asked it to improve performance based on a benchmark. Boy did it cheat. My coworker had a similar experience with a different model. This points to a lack of common sense. Maybe this can be added to coding agents system prompt? (Rather than me having to put it in AGENTS.md.)

Silly Business Theory is right: in the future the best work, greatest progress, most valuable innovations won't come from laboring under the false consciousness that work must be hard and serious to produce value. The best work is going to come from people playing and having fun.

The more I look at this the more impressed I am and the more I realize how grateful we should be to Tao. 1. He acknowledges ignorance: this is something academics almost never do since their cultural capital is tied up in them knowing things. But he can since, well, he's Terence Tao. 2. He is explicitly acknowledging his use of GenAI to fight the stigma of using AI. If the child prodigy turned UCLA prof who studied with Erdos uses AI, it is legitimate technology. (please start using this sentence with AI skeptics btw) 3. He is also showing how AI is best used: as a kind of syntactic tool that finds connections in possibility space and has access to a larger library of information than our brains can. There's more here but the cool internet thing is a list of three. I often lament Tao has too playful of a mode of operating, feeling like he plays with linear algebra when he should be doing foundations of mathematics. But not only does this moment prove my view wrong, it also proves just how much Silly Business Theory #SBT is right: in the future the best work, the greatest progress, and the most valuable innovations won't come from people laboring under the false consciousness of Protestantism and Marxism that asserts work must be hard and serious to produce value. The best work is going to come from people playing and having fun. We're on the cusp of a near utopian explosion in human potential and quality of life. And you're bearish?!?!?!?!??????!?

So I think the new X algorithm f*cked my account, and maybe yours too. Elon and Nikita said they were going to stop this, but I think they didn't: the new algorithm is clearly showing your content based on your IP geolocation. The proof: Left: 3 months of stats Right: 7 weeks of stats I went from 30% US traffic in the last 3 months (in fact, I had 50% months ago) to 40% Spanish traffic, even though I was writing exactly the same type of content this week, in English. It seems they just want non US people to be unable to reach that audience. It's as plain as that. So, so sad. Three years of working hard to build a US audience by providing value to you all, and now a f*cking algorithm is going to destroy all that. Come on, X. What the hell does it matter where you post from if the content is good?
