My fav part about being pregnant is googling various symptoms (today's: unrelenting stuffy nose that's somehow worse than my baseline) and being told nope, can't take anything for that, but don't worry it'll clear up ~2wks after delivery!!! Just 5 more months of not breathing!!

MPs on the ethics committee keep referring to spyware having been used by the RCMP since 2012. The RCMP actually testified yesterday that they've been using technology to bypass encryption since 2002, not 2012.

RCMP officials at the ethics committee say one of the times spyware was used was to investigate an RCMP officer. Seems like that may have been Cameron Ortis? cbc.ca/news/canada/rc…

The RCMP says it has used spyware to hack dozens of mobile devices since 2017, but it hasn't used Pegasus software. politico.com/news/2022/08/0…

Since 2017, the RCMP has used spyware in 32 investigations and received warrants to target 144 devices. But only 49 devices were actually targeted.

But it won't provide the specific names of the spyware tools it's using.

In documents tabled with the ethics committee regarding its use of spyware, the RCMP confirms it "has never procured or used Pegasus or any other NSO product."
