10 years ago I was still stuck in the query trenches (lost & confused). Here’s a few things I’ve learned about writing/publishing in the past decade 🧵 1. Resilience. Rejection is part of the job. It gets easier. It’s not that your work isn’t good it’s that it isn’t a good fit.

61. Finally, I wish you the best of luck. We all need it. Sometimes when things are looking grim an unexpected opportunity will pop up. Publishing can be slow (or it can seem that way - screen adaptations can be slower). Tell your stories, please. I, for one, want to read them.

@MaureenCBerry Actually, it’s been a rough few days. MRI found a new tumor, one that’s growing pretty fast. Surgeon says he will operate several months from now, but not this soon after my first surgery. So it’s time to go back to the drawing board to look at other chemos or trials. Damn DDRLS.

I started round 2 of chemo yesterday and also had my second infusion of immunotherapy. I’ve been asleep almost every second since the infusion ended 27 hoots ago. It wipes me out every time, but it’s better than the alternative. #CancerStinks

Today was a productive day. Well, productive considering that that #Chemo usually keeps me on the couch. I set out, planted, and fertilized 200 annuals, divided/repotted two ferns, bathed the cat, and cheered on the Braves! Go, ME! #CancerSurvivor

@AnnGarvin_ I’m 45 and after 6 years of being single I decided to go on a dating website. It’s the most depressing experience of my life. I’ve had a few people message me but they all look like they could be my father. I think I will stay forever single
