SLHS Football Family- here’s a glimpse into the environment that our players have created this summer in the weight room as a D8 school. It’s us versus a pile of weights and we are willing to push ourselves to be better each session. These weights weigh the same as they do at a D1 school. For us to compete in this sport, we need to be stronger than we have ever been. Physically and mentally. Each one of these players in this video first learned the correct technique, and then had the guts to put on more weight to evolve as an athlete within our program. There’s no better sport than football. In an era of kids choosing an easy path, ours are choosing to work hard while going through pain and failure. All this is done just so they can show up again the next day to do it all over again. Thanks to Alma College for allowing us to switch venues for tomorrow’s team camp and 7 v 7. We are now using the Andrus Family Field House. This complex is indoors and there will be water filling stations and restrooms available. We appreciate the opportunity to get better tomorrow during the extreme heat!! The address for the new venue is 6000 Charles Ave, Alma, MI 48801. Parents are welcome to attend. Players will need running shoes, cleats, their helmet, and a water bottle. The camp will run from 2:30pm- 5:30pm. We will be running combine drills at the start of our camp. (40 yd dash, broad jump, 5-10-5) We then will have multiple learning sessions with offensive and defensive drills. We then will have a 7 v 7 from 6-8pm with our JPC-II friends. Players will meet at the complex and not at SLHS. Signing Day for @ryder_siefka as he heads off to Kalamazoo College this fall to play football. Owen Fogel is set to wrestle at Lake Erie next season, as well. Go Sharks!!
