The description they had was a black Tiguan with out-of-state plates. Derrick was driving a gray Atlas with Illinois plates. ​Despite the vehicle models, colors, and plates not matching, officers didn't hesitate. They converged with guns drawn, shouting contradictory commands. You can hear the officer in this clip explicitly threaten to "shoot him in the head" if he moves. ​The most staggering part of this footage isn't just the mistake—it’s the immediate realization. Once they checked his plates (something that should have happened before the guns were drawn), the energy shifted. ​"This is the wrong car." ​"The plate doesn't match." ​Officer Harvey's direct quote: "I fed this up." ​The Lawsuit & Legal Progress ​In January 2025, represented by Ekl, Williams & Provenzale LLC, Derrick House filed a federal lawsuit against the Village of Woodridge and five officers.
