@MaxTesto3763841 @dr_besty @isnit0 Again, that’s not what is happening but you’re so blinded by your side of the argument you’re refusing to think critically about anything. Were you never taught to not take things at face value and actually understand the ‘why’ behind things?

@james__love @dr_besty @isnit0 Let me get this right. You are trying to tell me that the uk state pension is not one of the worst in europe when in fact it is. The stae pension is 12.5k a year. That is a fact.

Apparently this is a tweet arguing in favour of a very generous state pension
lisa keeble 😊@lisakeb007

@mulronie @ReemAmirIbrahim Why should the State take money from people who've earned it and give it to people who haven't? I'm sick to death of this entitled generation who think that the world owes them a living

@Hallem808 @SandyofSuffolk There will always be an excuse. You dont have to live in the middle of nowhere. You can live in my city of Newcastle for 2.5 less than London. It isnt the middle of nowhere and much nicer than that shit hole of London.

@SandyofSuffolk The country was destroyed by your generation, the younger generations haven’t been in power yet There are cheap homes in the middle of nowhere, but there aren’t good job prospects there

Read the comments under my original post. You show them houses they can afford and they come up with spurious excuse after spurious excuse why they can't. Good God, these people. No wonder the country is doomed. Hardly anyone under about 40 wants to get off their bums and actually do anything to make their lives better. But they'll moan at pensioners. 🙄

@SandyofSuffolk You lost the argument at 'Show them houses they can afford'. Go on then, show them. They don't exist. How will boomers repay the debt of making current 23-26 year olds give up the most fun few years of their lives just so they wouldn't catch a sniffle?

@francessmith The way I see the the left vs right is the left are the socially engineered, uni grads and the gullible believing everything they're told despite actual reality and the right are the resistors to the nonsense. The greens are the worst of the worst.

Raise minimum wage = unemployment Raise NI = unemployment Raise red tape via employment act = unemployment Net Zero madness destroys industry = unemployment Then tax people to pay business to take on young = low growth = unemployment
Jake Richards MP@JakeBenRichards

Labour will take action to tackle youth unemployment - which grew exponentially under the Conservatives. Young persons guarantee ✅ Investment for businesses to take a chance ✅ Bolstering apprenticeships and vocational education ✅ @bbcquestiontime

One of the lines boomers use to defend the triple lock is Britain has an international low state pension compared to our peers. There’s just one problem with that argument - it isn’t true! British state spending on pensioners is actually well above the average among our peers.

@shivmalik @DaveKent101 Low interest rates after the dot com bubble lasting 20 years and massive population increase over the same time coupled with a rise in single person households, more divorce, less marriages, all led to a perfect storm. Prices trebled up north and 4or 5 times down south by 2007

Dear boomers, can you afford to buy the house you live in currently with the wage you used to earn before you retired? If you can’t, then that’s the whole housing problem in a nutshell. It really is that simple to understand.

@ShapoMelon @ScottGoetz_ What your graph doesnt show is % of net salary which gives a better picture. Eg in the 80s basic rate tax was 30% and the tax free allowance was much much less generous than today. Net income spent on mortgage was probably higher . We paid more tax

@MaxTesto3763841 @ScottGoetz_ Yep complete propaganda to serve a pre-determined outcome. If they are encoutering problems it's largely due to policies that "boomers" generally don't vote for or vote against but that gen X and Y enthusiastically support.

Never will understand why old people get so viciously angry when it is explained to them they bought houses at a good time and it would be nice if similar conditions existed now. I suppose it is just insecurity at the idea owning a home really wasn’t a grand achievement for them.

@james__love @dr_besty @isnit0 It is. You are trying to tell me that a fact is not a fact. It is a fact that our pension is one of the worst in europe yet you are trying to tell me that is not true. That is gaslighing. How it is funded does not change that fact.

I never remember my generation, or the one before, decrying people who received the state pension as some sort of scrounger class. What has happened to people?

@2LivesCid It is curious that there has been a rash of them complaining about ‘boomers’. Where has it originated from? Obviously they are all incapable of original thought and it would be too much of a coincidence for so many at once so clearly the hatred has been stoked by someone? Why?

It’s obvious to me that the recent attacks on pensioners receiving state pension by the younger generations is simply because they’re too thick and lazy to get off their asses and make something of themselves. They expect everything given to them. Scroungy useless bastards.

@2LivesCid One posted yesterday that if he lived somewhere he could afford. He would have to get a 30 minute train to work and probably a 10 minute walk to the station every day on top.
