This isn’t meant to come off as a knock to CE. I’m a Christian - and a basketball player. 90% of the NBA is openly Christian. What I find maddening in all this is Christians online twisting the story into “Ivey got waived because he is a Christian.” That’s just a false statement and you’re pushing drama even further. There are guys that proclaim their faith all over the NBA - it’s a shared faith. There are pre-game Chapel services in EVERY arena where guys come together to worship. There are post-game prayer communities that are visible to fans and cameras. This isn’t an intolerance issue by the NBA. Far from it. The league wants guys to proclaim what they believe. With that; You will be fired in ANY job where you become a workplace nightmare. If you continually disrupt the peace and happiness of your colleagues, you will be held accountable. It’s as simple as that.

The people rallying behind Jaden Ivey claiming he’s being persecuted must have forgotten about the Orlando Magic’s Jonathan Isaac, who is anti-BLM, didn’t stand for the national anthem when his teammates took a knee, developed a clothing line that he said was an alternative to “woke” companies like Nike (his words), publicly criticized the White House under Joe Biden for Transgender Visibility Day and even spoke at Charlie Kirk’s Believer’ Summit. Still cashing NBA checks.

Kevin Porter Jr is currently playing for the Bucks. In 2020, he was arrested after he crashed his car and police found a loaded handgun and suspected marijuana in his car. In 2023, he was arrested in New York City on felony charges of second-degree assault and strangulation after an alleged domestic violence attack on his girlfriend (WNBA player Kysre Rae Gondrezick). Reports described her sustaining a fractured neck vertebra, a cut above her eye requiring stitches, and her fleeing into a hotel hallway covered in blood to escape his attacks. The NBA has no issue with Kevin Porter's behavior, but Jaden Ivey is released for holding Biblical beliefs.

Within Jaden Ivey’s 45-minute rant posted on Instagram a short time ago, he takes aim at the NBA celebrating pride night: “Join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness. They (NBA) proclaim it.” Ivey will likely be fined from this. A truly unfortunate situation to watch.
