@Truthful_ast @elonmusk Blame NASA for streaming absolute potato quality and dead air while they have an absolutely enormous PR budget and it's in their stated mission ...
English

@TimOnPoint Yeah this production was a huge missed opportunity. Crowning it was the outside camera streaming at the quality we already had at 1969, while SpaceX streams HD from inside a plasma bubble ....
English

NASA really blew a golden opportunity with this flight. They should have had wall-to-wall experts and personalities talking about this mission, future missions, science, physics, stories, etc. NASA has so many talented people, why not feature them.
I'm really surprised about it too. They have the human resources, why all the dead air and a single, unchanging video feed? Heck, they could have turned the broken toilet story into pure science class gold.
This is/was the single best way to capture/maintain/increase support from the American public and capture the imagination of the next generation.
Sorry, I don't mean to be that guy, I'm very excited about the return to the Moon... my kids turned it off.

@Kat_T_Tsun @rdd147 Rather blow up their own aircraft, not civilians like IRGC

This is literally what Trump just told you. The US flew in, built a secret US base, landed 2 C130s ran 35 miles to a distant mountain, rescued a severely injured pilot from the mountain travelling 35 miles back by foot across open plain, while engaged in massive night time fire fight. Tried to take off in 2 c130s that got stuck in airport. Kept battling until more troops came and took them away, then blew up the C130s in air.

Just Loki@LokiJulianus
“The Americans have actually built an entire military base overnight on this random mountain while looking for a guy (he's fine btw).”

@webmaster @chrisparkX Yeah it sucks. But you can always nab your cookies & make an app that replicates those exactly to do requests though. Obviously not appropriate for mass scanning, but I have something running that alerts me of interesting tweets & renders them for me to show non-interactively

It's still too pricey to build anything for basic personal use
Based on the pricing estimator, I can't even do a single read of my bookmarks for under $20
And I'm hesistant to try to build anything because one small bug in your code while testing could blow through usage and cost you hundreds. Makes no sense to me

@mariluukkainen Now, if Finland wasn't so hostile to "making it", perhaps this could be realized into more booming giants.
English

Finland has 458,000 active GitHub developers. The US has 28.6 million.
Sounds like a blowout until you do the math: that's 8.2% of Finland's population building in public vs 8.5% in the US. Per capita, we're basically tied with the country that exports most of the world's software.
And Finland is growing faster quarter over quarter (+6.3% vs +5.6%).
This is the part of the Finnish economy nobody in government talks about when they draft industrial strategy. We don't need to "attract" a tech sector. We already have one, proportionally the size of America's, sitting in bedrooms and co-working spaces across the country.

English

@PlasmaWave42 @Pirat_Nation He clearly deserves to be rich more than you do, because he built a very notorious company and did get "rich" doing that
English

@Max_Lindblad @Pirat_Nation If Linus can't even do cost of living increases then he doesn't deserve a jet and doesn't deserve to be rich.
English

Linus Tech Tips has bought a private jet valued at around 5 million dollars.
It was previously owned by the UAE government and has gold-plated sinks and ashtrays.
Linus calls it a zero-dollar plane because of the recent expensive engine work and full service inspection that returned it to like-new condition.

English

@AkkadSecretary if their pay was actually bad, they'd find another job. It's the normal way these "issues" are solved, and it would be especially easy given how much notoriety they've gained thanks to their very public job.
English

Whilst Linus Tech Tips shows off his private jet his former 10 year staff are making videos about how their pay is stagnant and they can't afford a house.
"You kinda start thinking while you are working on your bosses 3rd house, if you're going to be able to buy a house"

@JinjoJoey @PlasmaWave42 @Pirat_Nation Them being the ones with brains but working for someone who doesn't have one ? You're spouting nothing but easily dismissible spiteful idiot bs.
English

@Max_Lindblad @PlasmaWave42 @Pirat_Nation The dude's company would be nothing without all of the talented people he's had over the years, doing all the heavy lifting. He's legit the least skillful person on the entire crew. Everyone else has the brains.
English

@PlasmaWave42 @Pirat_Nation This is his money from his company. Without him founding and running said company the jobs wouldn't even exist. Should making people have jobs not have any award? You'd rather everyone be poor so that no one has more?
English

@Pirat_Nation Can’t get his employees raises but he can do this. lol this guy. Ubsubbed and everytime I see anything his brand related mark it as don’t recommend.
English

@Darkzy_Zapz @GilbertTheGray @npalsensei Delusional for knowing what Freedom actually means, not the "Free lunch" kind?
You obviously don't know anything about the ethos of Open Source. While trying to support people pushing the kind of shit people already know of and now increasingly often have a negative reaction to.
English

Any reason why this is in a Linux distro, @bazzite_gg ? ONE single color option but over 20 pride flags in Bazaar prefs?

@YFIHQ smart, that way you minimize the time you're on said unfamiliar road!
