Imagine @cosmoslabs_io not supporting the Osmosis merge and then seeing someone from @SolanaFndn say this. @osmosis created far more than $30M of value for the ecosystem. They built so many things. This should have been a straight yes. They’ve been “Cosmos labsed.”

Well, I know how such AMMs work: they generate a good amount of transactions on a chain because there is a need for arbitrage (to rebalance the price). So for me, this will have a positive impact on the hub—even without revenue. Arb bots will farm LVR and help make ATOM deflationary.

I have no stack, but I've been here since early 2021 and received the Osmosis airdrop (among others). I've worked 4 years in the cosmos eco. I agree with you too. I just think Osmosis makes sense, especially because the team is good. You know what you lose, but you never know what you get.

@Taglex77 @cosmoslabs_io @SolanaFndn @osmosis My honest answer would be: The bigger risk for ATOM holders right now is not Osmosis; it's the ongoing issues with the current leadership that has damaged the ecosystem so badly. Osmosis would at least bring some action to the Hub and could potentially create a good flywheel.

And Cosmos (as much as they want you to think the opposite) is in a bad situation as well; they just don’t tell you about it, that’s all. At the very least, Osmosis would drive some action on Cosmos, which is very much needed at this point.

@MaximeL101 @sunnya97 @zkDragon Doesn’t make sense. The hub couldn’t afford it when Osmosis was still good. If you can’t afford it, it doesn’t matter payment plan you use, you just can’t afford it.

Full respect to the Osmosis team @sunnya97 @zkDragon, but this should have happened a while ago—probably 2–3 years ago. It's probably a good move, but a little late. It can bring some value to the HUB for sure, but way less than it could have brought months ago.

@MaximeL101 @sunnya97 @zkDragon well it will. my osmo will be bought, and I believe the flywheel of osmosis (that despite burning has not seemed to really to impact price positively) will perhaps work for Atom. I think Atom will benefit. traffic, lq Call me naive and optimistic, but that is good in my book.

@MaximeL101 @sunnya97 @zkDragon How can this happen 2-3 years ago? Cosmos community pool was/still is tiny. Back when Osmosis was still making decent revenue, there is no way the hub could afford it even at like 5x or 6x discount on revenue. The hub can afford it now because the DEX is dead.

@x3ideRaven @IBCanon @sunnya97 @zkDragon @SecretNetwork I fully agree with you. Some volume on a DEX and some transactions from arbitrage bots could make the hub at least a little more worthwhile. This will bring activity to the hub, which is necessary.
