a couple of weeks ago we started heavily simplifying genviral we looked at our data and most usage was on 3 things: - slideshows - social media management - image and video generation everything else was barely being used and was just adding confusion for our users so we started removing things: - talking head videos, because regular video models are more than good enough now - the hiring creators feature - old legacy automations that were running in parallel with our new ones, this was used by a subset of users but was causing confusion to most new ones - so we got rid of it - oauth analytics for BYO accounts, we used to have 2 ways to track analytics (depending on hosted vs. BYO account), we consolidated into one single approach that is easier and leads to less confusion - our old studio had 5 different tabs to accommodate for different use-cases. that was very confusing - now we only have image mode and video mode - the scheduler had its own page, we removed that and just have a dialog that opens when you want to post one of your assets regardless of where you are in the app - we had a very bloated home page that was trying to show analytics, posts, and ai creations all at once. we replaced it with the viral content library so it's the first thing you see when you open the app. this also allowed us to get rid of the viral content library as a separate page/link - we half removed hook + demo (but working on an improved, simplified version of that so doesn't really count maybe haha ) i think the more imporant work however was simplifying everything else inside the features people actually use: - our automation flow had too many steps, you had to fill in too many things. now it's super easy - in less than 5 guided clicks you can generate 200 posts! - we introduced slideshow templates + studio templates. these pre-fill and pre-define the best values for different kinds of generations. customers can still change and customize everything, but they don't have to! this gets rid of confusion and has led to higher adoption - all social media stuff used to be scattered across the app and now it's all under one single link finally, the whole app is now optimized to lead to a single flow: automations the most obvious result is our sidebar going from 14 links to 8 (see image below lol) and since doing all this we've seen increased conversions and increased usage of the platform!
