@CharlesHawn66 When I finally get my FE, then I will be straight on this!

@MaxwellsRetro I re ally enjoyed this game on my C64 and need to give it a replay on one of my new C64 Ultimate's.
English

The Spy vs. Spy debate is simple:
Commodore 64 (1984): The undisputed GOAT. The Trapulator was peak strategy. 🖱️
Sega Master System: The cleanest graphics and smoothest gameplay of the 8-bit era. 🕹️
PS2/Xbox (2005): Overly hated. The 4-player multiplayer was absolute chaos. 💣
NES: Iconic, but removing the Trapulator menu was a crime. ❌
Change my mind. #SpyVsSpy #RetroGaming #MadMagazine

@VirtualJames I quite like the graphics. Captures the moment well!
English

@MaxwellsRetro Very early days but I was delighted that I managed the split screen look as I like text adventure games, but they are way better when they've got graphics I think. Thanks mate
English

Latest text adventure is coming on! I've only finished one room but I've got the hang of a split screen text adventure with graphics! A bit of music and I'm flying! Not happy with my graphics but I shrunk it down to not get errors at least! #adventuron #textadventuregames

The C64 scene is on fire right now! 🔥
If you haven’t checked out the latest from Griffonsoft and @PsytronikGames, you’re missing out on some serious 8-bit magic. 🕹️
⚔️ Musketeer: Pure swashbuckling nostalgia. Fluid platforming and swordplay that feels like a lost 1980s classic.
🏹 Sherwood: The perfect follow-up. Huge map, clever archery mechanics, and some of the best use of the C64 color palette I’ve seen lately.
The bread and butter of modern retro gaming. Go grab the digital versions on itch.io or wait for those beautiful physical boxes! 💾✨

@VirtualJames Great to see, I'm back now, so will be looking to create a game too soon.

I've been learning a lot of BASIC recently, trying and failing and trying. I'm getting better but it's taken me a good while. Anyway, I keep my eyes peeled for things like this to try out. I'll give it a go over the weekend #ZXSpectrum

The Wright Brothers? WRONG brothers 🇬🇧
In 1853, a man flew nine hundred feet across a valley in Yorkshire. Fifty years before Kitty Hawk.
His coachman climbed out and said: "I was hired to drive, not to fly."
But here's what they don't teach you.
Sir George Cayley. A young baronet from Yorkshire.
In 1799, he engraved a design on a small silver disc. On one side: an aeroplane. On the other: the four forces of flight. Lift. Drag. Thrust. Weight.
A hundred years before anyone flew, he understood exactly how it worked.
In 1804, he flew a model glider. In 1849, he put a ten-year-old boy in a full-size glider and launched him off a hill.
The FIRST time a human being had ever flown.
Then in 1853. The 'Triplane'. His coachman inside. Nine hundred feet across Brompton Dale.
Meanwhile in Somerset, a lace-maker called John Stringfellow had a different problem. Cayley proved you could glide.
But how do you add power?
He built a steam engine light enough to fly. In 1848, inside a disused lace factory, he launched it. Thirty yards under its own power.
Powered flight. In a LACE FACTORY. Fifty-five years before Kitty Hawk.
Wilbur Wright himself said: "An Englishman carried the science of flight to a point it had never reached before."
Cayley's silver disc is still in the Science Museum. Stringfellow's engine is in the Smithsonian. The first object America's national aviation museum ever collected.
A British engine. 🇬🇧
A baronet and a lace-maker. They figured out how to fly.
Then the world forgot 👇

🕹️ Fun Fact: The Commodore 64 wasn't just a 1980s icon—it’s the best-selling computer model in history.
To save time and money during development, the very first prototypes were literally made of painted cardboard. Talk about "faking it 'til you make it" in tech! 🚀 #RetroComputing #TechHistory #C64

C64 Superman (1988) by Ocean/Taito:
✅ Iconic theme music
✅ Bright, comic-book colors
❌ Actually being able to see the enemies before they hit you
Still, there was something magical about seeing that 8-bit "S" shield on a CRT. A true test of patience for any Man of Steel fan! 🦸♂️⚡️ #C64 #RetroGames #DC

LOGON PLEASE 🟩
Remember loading up Hacker on the ZX Spectrum and having absolutely no idea what to do? No manual, no instructions—just you versus the system.
Stumbling your way into the Magma Ltd. conspiracy remains one of the coolest "aha!" moments in 8-bit history. 🕵️♂️💻

The Atari version was rushed in 6 weeks and sold 7 million copies, but the flickering ghosts were caused by the hardware only being able to draw 2 sprites at a time!

Nintendo: "We have a plumber who saves princesses."
Sega: "We have a blue hedgehog who runs fast."
Amstrad: "We have Roland. Sometimes he’s in a cave. Sometimes he’s in space. Sometimes he’s a literal rubber plant. Don't ask questions." 🌵
Who remembers Roland in the Caves?
