@VirtualJames@loudscotsbloke I have one of these, picked it up a couple of years ago. It does have a lot of playable games worth collecting and the console is quite robust. It’s just annoying it’s so damn big!
@66mhzBrain@loudscotsbloke Thanks 66 that's good to know. I'm glad it enjoyed some success. I had figured it was a 2600 generation machine. Pretty cool that it's got a keyboard too
@VirtualJames@loudscotsbloke We had one of these when we were kids when everyone else had an Atari. They are quirky and cool. The games have a vibe of their own. Magnavox designed it, Philips owned Magnavox, no one in Europe had heard of Magnavox, everyone had heard of Philips, hence rebrand.
@iainwanderson68@loudscotsbloke Ah nice one Iain, I've never played one so am looking forward to giving it a whirl. Tbh before I was offered it, I'd never seen or heard of one either
@VirtualJames@loudscotsbloke Me and my brother had one of these. The joystick used to jam after a while as I remember. Wasn't very impressed with it even then, if I'm honest
44 YEARS AGO – In 1982 I launched the Amstrad 7090, the world's first ever commercial portable radio/cassette player to incorporate TWO cassette decks – enabling the user to tape tapes!
Amstrad set the template and in the years that followed, every audio manufacturer in the world – including the Japanese and European giants – produced twin-cassette audio units. The British Phonographic Industry claimed that tape-to-tape equipment was inciting people to break the law by copying music. Amstrad countered this by putting a Copyright warning at the bottom of our advertising.

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many... Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!
I would love to own the legendary #SoundBlaster 2.0 model CT1350 released by #Creative Labs in 1991 It was the last major revision of the original SB family cementing the audio standard for #MSDOS-era video games due to its low cost and high compatibility #cms#GameBlaster
