I recently picked up FFXIV and golly gee is it fun. I’m just a ranged dps so I don’t have to interact with most actual mechanics; I have so much respect for any and every tank/healer I meet 💀🙇♀️

My take on the MSQ skipping discourse is that everyone's allowed to do what they want to, but having such a non-existent relationship with art to where you choose to disregard the complete experience in favor of purely hitting endgame is just a really sad way to live.

people will see this and go "but I want to do stuff with my friends who are already at endgame", if your friends aren't playing older stuff with you as you go through the story then you need better friends

people wanting to get into ffxiv by skipping to the newest expac really vindicates the idea that lots of people don’t get into games to experience them anymore, they do it to be part of the conversation and whatever lets them join that conversation the fastest takes priority

@Vohris Look, I've played many mmos in my 30 years of life & I still haven't gotten used with kb+m. my fingers are smoll & I seem to not be able to reach the right keys at the right moment. The controller made it easier for me to play to the point that I do high-end content.
