For Civil War people: If you haven't read Henry Kyd Douglas's "I Rode with Stonewall," do so. He was with Jackson from Jackson's initial posting at Harpers Ferry through the Valley Campaign, Antietam, and Chancellorsville, almost all of that time on Jackson's personal staff. Wounded and captured at Gettysburg, he was exchanged and ended the war leading the last unit to stack its arms at Appomattox. It's anecdotal, with lots of personal accounts both of Jackson and day-to-day life in the Confederate army. Douglas himself was a sort of a David Niven type--charmingly self-deprecating, good humored, often funny, and a gifted story-teller. In my experience, it's unique among Civil War memoirs.

Now we've mostly ditched it—and we're sliding back toward the old pattern. Louise Perry: Lifting the monogamous restriction produces worse outcomes—higher crime, domestic violence, economic inequality. Monogamy is better for women and low-status men. Monogamy isn't "natural"—it's an engineered cultural upgrade that tamed inequality and violence. Do you think monogamy is worth defending even if it's not the "default" human pattern? @MaskedDefender @ElectaWing @charlesmurray There were. Even a few months after the war slave auctions were still being held in Union Kentucky. Slavery still existed in many Union states- Delaware, New Jersey, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri

Also at the exact times that the South considered freeing slaves, and enlisting them in the army & letting them remain in the South, Lincoln was trying to deport all the slaves & ex slaves & free blacks out of the US, up to the day he got shot.

I am seeing Spencer deny that he is an SPLC informant. He is lying. He didn't just leak Mike Peinovich and his attorney's emails, he has also doxed most of the people he has worked with. He even helped dox me to the SPLC in 2019. He provided SPLC journalist Mike Hayden with photos of me from inside his Alexandria residence. As for being an FBI informant, there's no reason he wouldn't be. There are a few people I know who had the feds up their ass about something only a small group of people -- Richard being one -- knew about. Spencer as fed informant is circumstantial, but evidence that Richard has been working for the SPLC for many years now is irrefutable.

They also fought to repel a violent and then foreign invasion of marauders, arsonists and in some cases rapists. They fought for their home more than for slavery.

John Doyle is correct There *is* a plan. It was all planned in secret by insiders with no input from the public. They screwed up. The regime didn't collapse like in a Hollywood movie. In fact, the plan has clearly backfired
