@Elenac0ohas Excellent question. Not at the current rate of spending, no. I prefer all consumption taxes or a hybrid flat tax; this may mean higher sales tax if solely consumption based, but spending cuts are also needed. But… I’d prefer a flat tax across the board, simple 777 or 888.

@MayfieldMx I get why that idea appeals to people, since consumption taxes feel more direct and proportional. I’m curious though, do you think tariffs alone could realistically cover what the federal income tax brings in, or would the numbers fall short once everything’s added up?
