In the interest of full disclosure, could we be getting the MOPAG 92 prices that are used to establish the landed costs? In addition also freight and Premium?
David Ndii@DavidNdii

It’s a rolling 180 day credit. In month 7, we pay month one only, 8- 2, 9- 3…In OTS, oil companies had 5 day window to buy $500m. GtoG gives us 6 months window. Moreover OMCs pay in KES I.e don’t go to market for $$$ individually. @jaindikisero breaks it down very well here

Lesson; you can't financially engineer your way out of an economic problem. At best, all you'll do is buy time.

The Islamic revolution is thought to have a significantly worse human rights record than the Pahlavi dynasty it overthrew. According to political historian Ervand Abrahamian, "whereas less than 100 political prisoners had been executed between 1971 and 1979, more than 7900 were executed between 1981 and 1985. ... the prison system was centralized and drastically expanded ... Prison life was drastically worse under the Islamic Republic than under the Pahlavis. One who survived both writes that four months under [warden] Ladjevardi took the toll of four years under SAVAK. In the prison literature of the Pahlavi era, the recurring words had been 'boredom' and 'monotony'. In that of the Islamic Republic, they were 'fear', 'death', 'terror', 'horror', and most frequent of all 'nightmare' ('kabos')." According to estimates provided by the military historian Spencer C. Tucker, in the period of 1980 to 1985, between 25,000 and 40,000 Iranians were arrested, 15,000 Iranians were tried and 8,000 to 9,500 Iranians were executed.

@MwangoCapital Actually they can. Those jobs usually cater for all expenses of the employee. Food, housing, transportation and even mobile data stipend is catered for.

@IanECox @justicechilling My question to you sir, despite there being freedom of expression in America, are white people allowed to use the N word when talking to blacks? Genocide "denial" is illegal in some countries. Is that limiting freedom of expression?

@justicechilling Dude. Tiktok is in every country. We all see the same stuff. As for mocking.. kids in Kenya mock the disabled in the schoolgrounds just like they do everywhere else in the world. None of us are special.

@IanECox Well noted sir. However while you say "not a good man", others would describe him as just "Controversial". In Africa we like to follow the saying "Don't speak ill of the dead". Let the brainwashed millions mourn their man.

@IanECox Kenyans are NEITHER right nor left leaning . They rather have religious and social views that align with the right leaning parties in the west. Their Economic views are "everywhere" meanwhile.

@wmnjoya I have held this view for so long. Decentralized, devolved, community-level cottage-like industry. This model is even more resilient than what we have in most modern economies.

I think small scale is the way to go in most sectors in Africa. Big companies are wasteful ships that are difficult to turn, obsessed with conquering the competition, allergic to work and fixated on status. And environmentally toxic.
Sahel Revolutionary Soldier@cecild84

🇬🇭Let this sink in my fellow Africans. Ghana made more revenue from small scale and artisanal Gold sale, than it did from large multi nationals. How on earth did this happen, what is going on in Africa's largest Gold producing nation? When are Ghanaian going to take control?

Instead of giving 100k hectares to 100k youths, they decided to export the youth to UAE as cheap labour, then lease 100k hectares to a UAE company for 100yrs

@MissNasike Give 100k hectares of Galana Kulalu to the youth to farm and deploy NYS tractors to assist them, that solves food insecurity and unemployment. Taking them to UAE is not sustainable

@ehdande Mr Dande, I would suggest that you read the Bill before you comment. The Nation seems to have misreported in this case. As per my understanding, the ammendment bill actually proposes electronic transmission of results which was not in the Elections Act No 24 of 2011

Random Thought… We should not introduce Adani-like opaqueness to elections. 1. In this day of everything Real Time / Live, what plausible reason could anyone have for not transmitting election results live? 2. Isn’t it this live transmission that secured the KK victory? Up to today, other than what’s in their minds, the KK 2022 victory deniers have never put forth any, not even a one liner, of credible verifiable evidence to support their conspiracy that the election was stolen. 3. 👇🏽This seems to go against common sense and the constitutional spirit of Transparent, Open and Accountable. We should not introduce Adani-like opaqueness to elections.

The company, no matter its target market, serves and employs Kenyans. As such, if it's closing, that should concern the government, but the government doesn't seem bothered:
David Ndii@DavidNdii

What do all these companies have in common? They all serve a small elite market. I am not going to sugar coat this. If your customer base is suburban lifestyle—private security, home improvement, upmarket FMCG etc—things will get worse before they get better.
