Modern Christians have been wrongfully conditioned by the culture to believe the worst sin they can commit isn’t murder, adultery, or idolatry - it’s “judging.” Remember, we are to judge righteously.

Don’t walk, run from this feminist “chimera” version of the Odyssey which they admit is completely divorced from the male author’s interpretation and centuries of trusted translating. I highly recommend Alexander Pope’s translation.
Archaeo - Histories@archeohistories

When Emily Wilson published her translation of The Odyssey, it quietly but decisively shifted how many readers understood one of the foundations of Western literature. For centuries, English versions of the poem had been shaped by male translators who often filtered Homer’s Greek through Victorian, Edwardian, or mid-20th Century assumptions about gender, class, and morality. Wilson approached the text with a different aim: fidelity not to tradition, but to the language itself. Her translation pays close attention to what the Greek actually says, rather than what earlier translators assumed it meant. Where previous versions softened Odysseus into a noble hero or exaggerated the moral failings of female characters, Wilson strips away editorial judgment. Words that had long been rendered with moralizing or misogynistic overtones—especially when applied to women, servants, or the enslaved—are reexamined and translated with consistency and precision. A term describing women as sexually suspect, for example, is no longer quietly upgraded to “faithful” or “pure” when it suits male sympathy. Equally important is what Wilson avoids. She resists anachronistic language that romanticizes violence, hierarchy, or domination. Her Odysseus is clever and ruthless, not automatically admirable; Penelope is intelligent and strategic, not merely patient and chaste. Enslaved women are named as enslaved, not euphemized into “maids,” forcing modern readers to confront the social realities the poem assumes rather than smoothing them away for comfort. Wilson’s choices don’t modernize Homer—they clarify him. By refusing to insert gendered judgment or inherited bias, her translation reveals how much earlier versions reflected the values of their translators rather than the ancient text. The result is an Odyssey that feels sharper, more unsettling, and more honest: a poem about power, survival, and storytelling itself, finally allowed to speak without centuries of moral varnish. © Reddit #archaeohistories

I just want everyone to understand that America has not been trying. We bully our smart kids. We spend 1000 times more on special education than gifted and talented programs. We eliminated honors classes in the name of equality. We even came up with a replacement for phonics so stupid that half our kids can’t read. Then we take the smartest kids that survive this system, and we racially and sexually discriminate against them for entry into college. Then we do that again when they apply for their first job. And again for every job after that. Then we undercut them in favor of foreign labor that’ll do worse work for cheaper. Most kids see this and just say “fuck it” and focus on sports, or trying to be an influencer, or just give up on trying altogether. Meanwhile in places like China every kid spends 16 hours a day studying trig tables or gets the belt. Yet America is still number one. In everything. There is so much latent potential in the American people. We have tried before. We crossed a continent and carved this country out of clay. We recrossed the oceans and conquered the world by accident as a favor to our friends. One day (hopefully soon), we are going to start trying again. America will wake up. Don’t be on the wrong side when it does.

“Nature has made us unequal.” In De Legibus (“On the Laws”), Cicero argues that inequality is not an injustice to be corrected but a fact imposed by nature. Justice, for him, is not the equal distribution of power or honor, but their proportionate assignment according to capacity. Law does not exist to deny the harsh structure of life, but to impose form upon it. A republic collapses when it treats unequal men as equals. It endures only when differences of capacity are acknowledged as realities to be governed, not errors to be erased. Nature does not endow all men alike, and political order survives only by enforcing discipline upon that truth.

This afternoon at UNCW, the so-called ‘tolerant’ left painted over a beautiful mural honoring Charlie Kirk. In the video, one girl can be heard bragging that ‘all her friends at Chapel Hill will be proud.’ Disgusting @campusreform @RyanAFournier @libsoftiktok

An account with 5 million followers on X posts a fake photo of suspect Tyler Robinson wearing a Trump shirt and quietly follows up in a thread with the real photo. The fake photo (which hasn't been deleted) gets 400k impressions in an hour, and the real one gets 50k. There appears to be a coordinated effort right now to spread as much fake information as possible to label the alleged Kirk assassin as a far-right Trump supporter.

American and British Forces and Plans 4/ Greene’s 2,200 included 1,200 Continentals (Maryland, Delaware, Virginia lines) and 1,000 militia from North/South Carolina—battle-hardened but outnumbered in cavalry. Plan: Surprise dawn attack, with militia screening Continentals. Stewart’s 2,000 British/Loyalists—regulars like the 3rd Foot, Hessians, and provincials—were disciplined but fatigued. Unaware of Greene’s approach, they camped loosely. Stewart aimed to rest and resupply, but scouts warned of patriots. Both sides braced amid swamps and pines, with heat adding to the strain.
