My new paper is on Einstein and the discovery of special relativity. Einstein’s path was not a sudden leap—a clash: Newtonian mechanics vs. electrodynamics → frozen light wave. Ether theory adds asymmetries. He did not cite Michelson–Morley in 1905. Did he know the experiment? After 1905, he gave conflicting answers. Faraday’s law is not Galilean invariant. Einstein imagines the magnet–conductor thought experiment. He goes back to the blackboard, cautious, not reckless. He first tries emission theory (relativity + Galilean addition) → contradictions. Einstein’s writings, once *freely available to all*, are now being monetized! Access will depend not on curiosity or merit, but on affiliation and money. It’s about who gets to speak for Einstein, who profits from his words, and who gets excluded in the process. When knowledge becomes a commodity, scholarship becomes a hierarchy of access. My new paper demonstrates that Einstein, influenced by Lorentz, went beyond both Lorentz and Poincaré—dropping the ether, utilizing phase invariance, and deriving the full relativistic Doppler, aberration, and velocity-addition law, which reduces to the Fresnel drag effect.
