Spot on - your outcome at the early stage should be an understanding of your business model from a unit economics perspective, and the budget required to reach your next set of milestones, not a perfect three statement model that balances imaginary numbers 3 years from now.

How much time should you spend on an early stage financial model? ✨3-10 HRS MAX✨ I met with a founder who said they created a complex model (over many months) and they'd need time to update it before sharing. This level of rigor in early financial modeling isn't needed.
