Myth: Nurses will have a harder time securing federal student loans for their programs and this would contribute to the nationwide nursing shortage.
Fact: Department of Education data indicates that 95% of nursing students borrow below the annual loan limit and therefore are not affected by the new caps.
Further, placing a cap on loans will push the remaining graduate nursing programs to reduce their program costs, ensuring that nurses will not be saddled with unmanageable student loan debt.
It is important to remember that the loan limits are limited to graduate programs and have no impact on undergraduate nursing programs, including four-year bachelor’s of science in nursing degrees and two-year associate’s degrees in nursing. 80% of the nursing workforce does not have a graduate degree.

Hey @ScottAdamsSays I have twin 14 year old boys in college and you’re their favorite author. Here’s one of em rereading Reframe for the third time.
The kids are alright. ❤️

The boys are taking Personal Finance this semester. The course has an online component that costs $129.99 (x2 cuz they can’t share). It also has a 14 day trial period. I jokingly told the boys if they get approval from their professor and complete it within the timeframe I would give them the money.
They finished in eight days, both getting an A. Looks like they learned something about fiscal responsibility. Now they’re meeting with potential transfer colleges for when they complete their Associates. Then it’s on to D&D club, STLCC’s Halloween Walk, and Band rehearsal.
I’m just a proud chauffeur.

@GPrime85 PDL came out my freshman year at NYU and PTA came thru to showcase it and everyone was fawning and talking about how great it was and I was like “can we go see 8 Mile again?”

Took my wife to see @joemachi tonite cuz he’s her favorite comedian. I’m grateful she’s faithful cuz I know how much of a lothario he is.

The boys have a pretty cool Prof for their American Politics class. Here’s what he just sent:
Why I choose to do the right thing? You know I have been debating within myself why I should allow you to do your final exam without proctoring, and without a lockdown browser. And finally, I think I can say that my wrestling has stopped.
I will allow you to do your final exam without a lockdown browser because it is the right thing to do. I have to trust you to do the right thing. Even if I never find out that you have cheated by using AI tools, and in 99% of the cases, I never will find out…I need to give you the freedom to choose. That on my part, is the right thing to do.
You can of course choose to violate my trust and choose to do the wrong thing, but that is a risk I am willing to take. Because I know that most of you will not cheat by resorting to AI tools to do the final exam. I believe the best about you: that given the opportunity, you will rise to the occasion. I want to lay before you a challenge: to do the right thing even if no one finds out and you know that you can get away with it. Ultimately, you will forget 99% of what you have learned in this class, you will also forget in time, the grade you received in this class, but the highest honor you can bestow on me is to tell me, “Because I took your class, I am a better person! I know now what it is to do the right thing even if no one finds out and I am never caught!”
A University education is more than graduating competent professionals. It gives me no joy to know that I have been involved in graduating smart crooks! I do, however, relish the idea that you all will go on one day to be ethical professionals, ethical businesspersons, ethical politicians, and ethical home makers. More than twenty-five years ago I came into this country as an immigrant because I wanted to live in a country where I have the freedom to choose. Not many countries in the world offer the freedoms that we have in this country, and I have lived in five of the six inhabitant continents of the world. The freedom to choose is a particularly American value. As our Founders said more than 250 years ago, “this Republic and this Constitution we have, is only for a moral nation and no other.” John Adams, Second President of the United States of America. If we fail to be a moral nation, we will lose our freedoms altogether.
It has been my privilege and pleasure to teach you. I wish you well in all your future endeavors!
