Nick Calathes is still Florida’s all-time leader in assists per game. He and Chandler Parsons were 5-star teammates at Lake Howell together - Calathes won Mr. basketball in the state of Florida for two years in a row. But Calathes left Florida after his sophomore year to begin his pro career in Greece, while Parsons stayed, eventually became SEC Player of the Year and led Florida to an elite eight in 2011. What could have been?

American intelligence failure yet again
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷🇮🇱 The Wall Street Journal just dropped a bombshell report on the inside story of the Iran war... The key revelations: Trump used to call the Middle East "blood and sand" and wanted nothing to do with it. Then Netanyahu gave him a "persuasive February briefing" in the Situation Room, backed by repeated calls from Lindsey Graham, and Trump changed his mind. He thought it would be as easy as Venezuela. Trump was "in awe" of the scale of the bombs, watching clips of explosions every morning. But he did "little to sell the American public on the war" and grew frustrated when he didn't get praised for it. His own team showed him midterm polling that proved the war was dragging down Republican candidates. He "quickly began ruminating on how the military action could turn into a catastrophe." On the Strait: Trump told his team before the war that Iran would "likely capitulate before closing the strait." His advisers were "caught off guard" that tanker traffic stopped so quickly. Trump later "marveled at the ease with which the strait was closed," saying "a guy with a drone can shut it down." By late March, before the F-15 was even shot down, Trump ordered his team to find a way to start talks. The war was already over in his mind weeks before the ceasefire. His aides begged him to stop doing impromptu interviews because he was contradicting himself publicly. He agreed to stop, then went right back to calling reporters. The April 1 address to the nation was Susie Wiles' idea to "reassure the country Trump had a plan." Trump didn't want to do it because, in his own words, he couldn't declare victory and didn't know where it was going. This report paints a picture of a president who was talked into a war by Netanyahu and Graham, realized it was a mistake within weeks, spent the rest of the conflict looking for the exit, and was frustrated that nobody would give him credit along the way. The war was an impulse, sold by an ally with different objectives, enabled by advisers who couldn't say no, and sustained by a president who was too proud to admit the mistake until the economy forced his hand.

The stock market is trading like we didn’t just embarrass ourselves with the worst military defeat in U.S. history…. And that while 20% of the world’s oil is still offline somehow it doesn’t matter… At a certain point you just have to laugh. 😂 Trading on perception has always been more profitable than trading on reality.

From this post, Elon is suggesting the AI5 chip is targeted for both Optimus and their training cluster (running reinforement learning for FSD/Optimus). This seems to signal that AI4 is sufficient for FSD and the scale out of Robotaxi. We are not waiting on AI5 for Robotaxi.

@dailydirtnap There always seems to be a deep insecurity of some people who live in Red states to justify why they moved. Enjoy living in low tax state that doesn’t invest in education, has tons of fat people, and lives off the tax receipts of blue states. Yee Haw 🤣

Let me tell you what it is like living in a red state. - I pay 3% state income taxes, versus 13.3% in California and potentially 16.8% in NYC - Property taxes lowest in the country. A typical 2,000 square foot middle class home will pay about $750 a year. - No mass transit that breaks down all the time - Massive economic development; everyone wants to move here - People are civil to each other on roads because everyone has guns in their cars - You generally don't hear swearing in public (or even private) places - No spitting, littering, and certainly no crapping on the sidewalk - The homeless drug addicts live in the woods and don't panhandle you - There's a bad section of town, but if you don't go in it, you have practically zero chance of being victim of a crime. And the bad section isn't that bad. - You're more likely to hear a racial slur in New York than you are here - Politicians are fighting over how fast to lower taxes - Education is better while spending half as much per student - Still a healthy discourse--in spite of all the Trump stickers on cars, there are No Kings rallies here, too, though people mostly ignore them - Real estate values going up, not down - Developments with thousands of houses going in all over the place - 235 days of sunlight a year. 110 in NYC. The downside? Almost impossible to get an abortion, but you can just go to another state if you're motivated enough. Blue states are so screwed.

I am not sure why the religious among us (the evangelicals) don't see the Trump tweet on Truth Social as profane and blasphemous - representing a lack of respect for god, sacred entities and/or religious beliefs. In self memorializing himself as god-like, a Star Wars figure or as a warrior king - one would think that a few in the White House would suggest to him that such a communique should not be delivered. Trump @potus @thewhitehouse has been dangerously normalized... @dougkass

As a person who represented dementia patients when they were being committed to nursing homes, many went into hallucinogenic states. Trump's portraying himself as Jesus at three in the morning is proof of his rapid cognitive decline.

🚨RESEARCHERS JUST MATHEMATICALLY PROVED THAT AI LAYOFFS WILL DESTROY THE ECONOMY.. AND EVERY CEO ALREADY KNOWS IT.. BUT NONE OF THEM CAN STOP.. Two researchers from UPenn and Boston University just published a paper called "The AI Layoff Trap".. They proved something terrifying.. Every company replacing workers with AI is also firing its own customers.. Every laid-off employee is someone who used to spend money.. When enough people lose their jobs.. Nobody can afford to buy anything.. And the companies that fired everyone go bankrupt selling products to an economy with no purchasing power.. Every CEO can see this coming.. The math is obvious.. Fire workers.. Lose customers.. Lose revenue.. Collapse.. But here's the trap.. No company can afford to stop.. If you don't automate.. Your competitor will.. They cut costs.. Undercut your prices.. Steal your market share.. And you die anyway.. So every company automates.. Knowing it's collectively suicidal.. Because the alternative is dying alone while everyone else survives.. It's a Prisoner's Dilemma.. And the researchers proved it mathematically.. The numbers are already stacking up.. Block cut nearly half its 10,000 employees this year.. CEO Jack Dorsey said AI made those roles unnecessary and that "within the next year, the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion".. Salesforce replaced 4,000 customer support agents with AI.. Goldman Sachs deployed an AI coder that lets one senior engineer do the work of a five-person team.. Over 100,000 tech workers were laid off in 2025 alone.. AI was cited as the primary driver in more than half the cases.. 80% of US workers hold jobs with tasks susceptible to AI automation.. And here's what should scare policymakers.. The researchers tested every proposed solution.. Universal Basic Income.. Doesn't fix it.. It raises living standards but doesn't change a single company's incentive to automate.. Capital income taxes.. Don't fix it.. They change profit levels but not the per-task decision to replace a human.. Worker equity and profit sharing.. Narrows the gap but can't close it.. Collective bargaining.. Can't fix it.. Because automating is a dominant strategy.. No voluntary agreement between companies is self-enforcing.. Only one thing works.. A Pigouvian automation tax.. A per-task charge that forces every company to pay for the demand it destroys when it fires a worker.. The researchers call it a "Red Queen effect".. Better AI doesn't solve the problem.. It makes it worse.. Because every company sees a bigger market share gain from automating faster than rivals.. But at the end.. Everyone automates equally.. The gains cancel out.. And the only thing left is more destroyed demand.. The paper's conclusion is devastating.. This isn't a transfer from workers to company owners.. Both sides lose.. Workers lose their income.. Companies lose their customers.. It's a deadweight loss that harms everyone.. And no market force can break the cycle.. The AI layoff trap isn't a prediction.. It's already happening.. And the math says it won't stop on its own.

When will @CNBC send Kernan to Fox News, where he clearly wants to be. A lot of us watch CNBC to escape partisan hackery. Watching @PeteButtigieg detonate him with simple math right now is satisfying, but also shouldn't be necessary in order to get the news of the day.
