i literally had to jump out of the shower mid way because during my thoughts i finally intellectualized what i despise so much about this genre of meme, and the people who post it this sort of snarky Gen-X *sips tea* humor, look at what it is actually implying observe the body language of the self-insert subject. look at her snarkily sitting across from you, the observer and recipient of her comments. she is sitting there, smugly, judging you. laughing to herself at you for not realizing what she realizes, you’re the fool. but notice how as she does so, she is doing nothing about it, nothing about the problem she is aware of. she’s just *sipping tea* “i’m waiting for YOU to realize something, i’m waiting for YOU to do something about it” while the self-insert sits there and laughs at the implied you for supposedly not realizing, they get everything taken away from them. their rights, their country, they lose everything and all they can do is *sip tea* and laugh at how dumb the reader is for their lack of awareness as if knowing makes it affect them less so much as one person exists who is not yet aware they will have a scapegoat to point at and say “see? we can’t do anything because these people, *chuckles* they just don’t get it yet!” politics is decades past the point of changing minds, it’s decades past the stage of pointing out “liberal hypocrisy”, there is no more value in owning libs with facts and logic you are running out of tea to sip and nobody is coming to refill it for you
