@FoxProtocolMNG @BeardyBrandon Stocks are taxable under the bill. Trusts are taxable under the bill… try reading it

This obsession with taxing the rich is moronic.
Income taxes? They take payments in stock.
Capital Gains Taxes? They take loans against stocks. Don't have to sell the stock.
Sales Taxes? They make all purchases through a Non-Profit as operational expenses.
Assets? They own nothing. Trusts / LLCs control the wealth.
The rich built the system. They built it well. All the taxes do is reduce competition.
You cannot GET rich by grinding in America anymore. You lose 22% + in income taxes or 30% + on smart investments.
The system is designed to keep you poor in the name of "taxing the rich"

Tell me you don't know how rich people operate without telling me you don't know how rich people operate.
Rich people, the kind she is talking about, don't stick money in a safe like Scrooge McDuck.
They have assets, but don't own them. They own companies, and have shares, or their trust has shares, or... whatever. But this is just pandering to the dumb Americans who think Elon is sitting on a bank account with a trillion dollars.
I'm all for finding ways to tax the rich more, but the rich are smarter than this.
Elizabeth Warren@SenWarren
Today, I'm introducing my wealth tax — and more than 50 members of Congress are joining me. It’s time for the government to start working for American families, not just the ultra-rich.

@BeardyBrandon Unsold shares in a company are taxable under the act. Try reading it

@ErichReimer @GivnerAriel Yeah it really is a shame that these ceos dont want to take accountability for their actions
English

@GivnerAriel We live in a society where people don’t want to take accountability for their own lives and actions

This is disgusting and I can’t wait for the appeals.
The precedent set by YouTube being liable for screen-time addiction is kind of scary. Treating algorithms like a defective product opens the door to endless lawsuits over “addictive” tech.
What’s next? Books, video games, junk food? What happened to personal responsibility?

@KlemintimeTM Im an artist myself. I do photography and I use generative ai all the time. Its a gamechanger for me and if some random was advocating for those tools to be removed on my behalf id be pissed
English

@MeatloafTV I'm sure it will look good at some point, but does that excuse the detriment it will have on artists? Using AI blurs the line between artist's and AI's intent. If an AI model adds unintended detail or changes how a character looks, is that really the artist's work anymore?
English

This comment made me realize that there are genuinely people that think this shit looks good.
As if there's no meaningful moral dilemma to it.
As if there's no *clear* takeover of human art.
As if this actually looks better.
I can't comprehend it. This timeline is insanity.
Frank J. Fleming@IMAO_
I think this DLSS 5 thing has exposed a lot of people who mindlessly scream at everything AI.
English

@KlemintimeTM How about we let the artists speak for themselves. You’re going to battle for artists who havent even declared war. Maybe they are down with it because they know itll enhance their art down the road
English

@KlemintimeTM Im speaking primarily to your comment that it looks worse. It looks worse now (to you) but who’s to say in a year or so it wont be very good. And if the intent is to make a hyper realistic looking game, wouldn’t that only enhance the artistic vision?
English

@MeatloafTV That's ragebait. DLSS as an upscaler is a completely different output- one that retains the original lighting, materials, and artistic direction- and you know that.
English

..what?
Generative AI should NOT be involved with art, PERIOD. This model clearly adjusts visuals to where they directly interfere with the artist's intent. It's quite literally taking away part of making a game artistically appealing and giving that work to AI.
Stop the Slop.
JP Kellams@synaesthesiajp
All you guys roasting DLSS 5 like it doesn’t look better/is detracting from art direction are absolutely insane. The lighting and shading improvements are bonkers. If that was shown as a next-gen hardware reveal and not “AI” you guys would be going nuts like the Watch Dogs demo.

Nah movement saved gaming.

People that play like this is what ruined gaming bro…
English

it was just a comment but it's been in my head all day
was gaming with a group tonight and this guy said "you're pretty good for a girl who probably only plays for attention" and everyone laughed and i just muted myself and kept playing
but like... i've been playing since i was 12. this is literally the one thing that's mine. the one place where i thought it didn't matter what i looked like or what people assumed about me
and one sentence just made me feel like a guest in my own hobby
i don't play for attention. i play because it's the only time my brain goes quiet. but i guess that's not obvious when you're a girl with a face cam 🤍
is it always going to be like this or does it get easier?

I think we have a big issue in the industry of people delighting in the failure of something new because it's profitable to be an anti-fan.
There's a fine line to walk between valid criticism and performative negativity that many fail to navigate.

Mamdani: Yesterday I did something I'm truly reluctant to do. I left New York City. I traveled down to Washington, D.C. to meet with President Trump. I have said time and again that our city faces an immense affordability crisis.
I proposed working together to build more than 12,000 new homes. It would mean the single largest housing development New York City has seen since 1973. The president was interested in the idea and I look forward to the ensuing conversations about how to build more housing in a city that doesn't have enough of it.
