Is stupidity internal, or an external problem? I think intelligence is cyclical, we all were dumbasfuck once. I lead by example.

This is what I wanted. The attention of the big dog. We need to push towards owning our devices. Repairablity and full control of software.
GrapheneOS@GrapheneOS

No, Fairphone definitely isn't capable of meeting the requirements for GrapheneOS. They've made it entirely clear security isn't one of their priorities, that they aren't willing to invest substantial resources in it and that they're not capable of meeting the requirements even if they were willing to try. Fairphone doesn't do the engineering for their devices themselves as you wrongly believe. Your statement that they have the hardware engineers to do so shows you aren't at all familiar with how they actually operate. Fairphone barely has any engineers working for them at all. They do close to zero hardware engineering themselves and extremely little firmware or software engineering too. It's why they got rid of one of their own operating systems and replaced it with the extraordinarily non-private and insecure /e/ which they now promote with Murena's typical false marketing for it. Fairphones are designed and manufactured by Fairphone's ODM partner in China. Fairphone doesn't design devices, they only make requests to their ODM partner. Their ODM partner is not capable of meeting our requirements or interested in doing so. If we wanted to work with their ODM partner, it would make far more sense to work with them directly instead of going through an unhelpful middleman taking a large cut of the money from each device they sell. Fairphones are extremely overpriced for what's being sold and the marketing around updates, long term support, sustainability, privacy and security is highly inaccurate.

Yes I did. I liked the messaging that fairphone offered. You are saying that is was just marketing. I can believe that. I want to own my device and do with it how I please. I don't want to rely on companies and now fairphone having a track record of disappointing their customers. There has been more pressure on repairablity. Companies like Apple offering tools and resources. Which is surprising to say the least. Fairphone was just the biggest name. I also know that GrapheneOS gets a lot of shit about fairphone. I wanted to see what you would say. I like your companies message as well. That is why I installed your software. I compromise where I can. I still will demand what I want. The perfect phone. I want to support GrapheneOS. I also want to support a company that respects it's customers. Thank you for responding to my idiotic rambunctious messaging.

Fairphone's devices have atrocious security. Their devices are marketed with inaccurate claims about updates, long term support, privacy and security. They do not provide what they claim. They consistently have much worse security than similarly priced devices from other OEMs. Fairphone consistently fails to live up to their update promises and doesn't provide decent updates from the beginning despite it being a major part of their marketing. Fairphone doesn't design or make their own devices. The hardware, firmware and software for their devices are designed and made by their ODM partner in China. Fairphone is not designing devices produced by a manufacturer partner with close oversight as Apple and Google are doing. Fairphone was unable to continue providing a 3.5mm analog audio jack despite likely wanting to keep it. They came up with justifications for it based on supposedly making devices thinner and longer lasting but the real reason is likely that their ODM stopped offering it. Fairphone doesn't sell a lot of phones themselves and is nearly entirely stuck using what the ODM is already offering for their other customers including larger customers. You believe they're designing their own hardware when in reality they're limited to choosing from what the ODM offers and they do not offer hardware capable of meeting our requirements. We need to work directly with a company capable of meeting our requirements to get that to happen. It's highly unlikely that we can get a device meeting our requirements working through a middleman not focused on GrapheneOS is not going to prioritize privacy or security.

That I didn't know. I had no idea fairphone didn't design their own devices. That is kinda stupid but I understand. I agree with you, fairphone is overpriced because they want to ethically source materials. The point was repairability. I am just as stubborn as your message. I want the perfect phone. I want the best of both worlds. They only phone that really pushes repairability forward right now is fairphone. Then if fairphone is incapable? Who can?

@MechThumbs @ctrl1ctrl @GrapheneOS @TechX1320 @Techjunkie_Aman The "big companies that nobody trusts" don't lie about the actual lifecycle of their devices or partner with people who claim security is for pedophiles. Those "companies that nobody trusts" don't trust test keys with their bootloader then pretend like it's all good and dandy.

@MechThumbs @ctrl1ctrl @GrapheneOS @TechX1320 @Techjunkie_Aman you want them to do, it is just wasting those resources on subpar products that have poor actual protection. A significant amount of users, including me, would lose a lot of respect for them. This is not some "moral stance" or whatever. People use GOS because they want security.

How do you think they pay the devs? With sunshine and rainbows? Something like fairphone can sell the hardware pay grapheneOS devs for the software. EVERYBODY wins. Nope, morals are more important than putting food on the table. This is why google, nvidia, and microsoft have nothing to worry about.

@MechThumbs @ctrl1ctrl @GrapheneOS @TechX1320 @Techjunkie_Aman GrapheneOS isn't a business nor is it trying to sell phones. The goal is to make a decently secure OS and actually protect users. They have limited development resources, and they have standards on the hardware security requirements for the OS. If they were to do what...

Grahene can tell fairphone the hardware they need. then build the hardware grapheneOS needs. Fairphone has a software problem. Graphene doesn't have a software problem. Fairphone is too focused on ethical sourcing that it really is hurting the message of repeatability. Nobody cares if a child made the phone. Graphene is too focused on hardware but still relying on big companies that nobody trusts.

@MechThumbs @ctrl1ctrl @GrapheneOS @TechX1320 @Techjunkie_Aman said the next sentence. Why would GrapheneOS want to work with Fairphone at all if they are so bad with security, lie to customers about the actual support lifecycle, and partners with shady entities like Murena? It's not like they are close but just need a little bit of help

People don't listen to niceness. Bluntness is the best, because you will remember this conversation. It is simple physiology. YES, these companies are so hell bent on creating the best product day one. No mistakes. If they would just be more relaxed and work together they could create a phone that everyone would want to buy. They are more morally focused rather then being able to actually run a successful business.

Dude, you have no self awareness. You have no idea how robotic you sound. Toxic me? no. Think of it more as constructive criticism. You act as if my knowledge is not on par with yours. You just dump knowledge. You need to learn on how to have a conversation rather than being right. I didn't ask for a run down of everything I already know. The problem is why would you not want to work with a company like fairphone first. They have the engineers to design a phone. GrapheneOS has the software people want. It is a no brainer. But egos get in the way.

Am I? I am just speaking about what I see. Condescending means to talk down to someone. I am just throwing it back at you. You people act as if I don't know what you know. Being right is more important than having a conversation. That is why Linux and projects like these never really hit main stream adoption. It is the community that kills it.

You people are insufferable. You people act like children. I said like fairphone. Fairphone is known for repairablity. All I'm saying is I want to repair my phone easily. My god, you and the heads of these companies are the reason we don't have nice thing. All of you have your heads up your asses. No wonder no one wants to work with these people. These projects die because of stubborn people.

@MechThumbs @ctrl1ctrl @GrapheneOS @TechX1320 @Techjunkie_Aman ... sending user voices and commands to OpenAI then claiming that it's okay because they hide the IP address, shipping dead versions of Orbot in the OS then call it advanced privacy, etc. The list is endless. Regarding the "tool of the enemies" claim - who codes AOSP you think?

You condescending ass. I have read the website, I am currently running G OS. I know, they are focused on security. I don't want a Moto nor a pixel. I would like something like a fairphone. Why work with companies people don't trust? Relying on hardware from a company like Google is an ironic joke.

@MechThumbs @GrapheneOS @TechX1320 @Techjunkie_Aman you must be new. even if you read their website you would know why as pixels are the only phones that meet all the hardware security needed for the OS and their pinned tweet also is how Motorola will be added as support with one of their new phones
