I firmly believe that rising pollution is linked to declining immunity and diseases; this personal tragedy has reminded me of my duty to future generations with even greater resolve. While the world acknowledges the environmental crisis in words, pollution control systems at state, national, and international levels are failing in their responsibilities, leaving even the United Nations limited to mere meetings. I believe that direct public participation at the village-panchayat-ward-local institution levels is the true path to environmental protection. For this mission, the works of Waterman Dr. Rajendra Singh ji, People's Judge Justice Gopala Gowda ji, Sri MVR Shastri ji, Sri EAS Sharma ji, and the late Vikram Soni ji—particularly their book Naturally Tread Softly on the Planet—serve as my guiding light. As the economy grows, and as revenues improve correspondingly, a few years of freeze on further revenue spend will make the public debt more manageable. Right now, when you include off-budget loans and unpaid bills, the debt-gsdp ratio exceeds 60%, and is unsustainable.
