A movie #Chhavva on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is released just ahead of the 395th birth anniversary of the legendary Hindu warrior, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.. Driven by curiosity, I watched the movie with my family yesterday. The movie captivated the audience, holding them in complete silence until the very end, when they erupted with chants of Jai Bhavani, Har Har Mahadev, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ki Jai.. While many of us are familiar with Sivaji Maharaj, his son's role and contributions to the freedom struggle remain largely unknown to most. Important thing to note Shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj were devoted Hindu warriors, they were not against any other religions. They have sacrificed their lives for mother India, their spirit is immortal.. This morning, I got on the Palle Velugu bus from Mangalagiri to Penumaka - not as a minister, but as someone who just wanted to listen. I sat with Divyang brothers and sisters. Some were heading to work, some to the market, and some were simply going about their day. As the bus moved, so did the conversations - quiet, honest and full of the kind of strength that doesn't announce itself. One conversation, though, stayed with me more than the rest. A young man, studying to become a special educator at JNTU, turned to me and said something I won't forget easily. He quoted Amartya Sen’s “Double Handicap” concept, telling me that persons with disabilities carry more financial burden than the general public just to live the same life. "This Divyanga Shakti policy doesn't just reduce that burden," he said. "It gives us the chance to contribute - to the state, to the country. That's what makes it meaningful." Here was a young man, navigating his own challenges every day, already training himself to serve others with disabilities, and he was thinking about nation-building. That kind of perspective is humbling. Divyanga Shakti isn't really about transportation. It's about a person being able to leave their house in the morning and not have to think twice about how they'll get there. It's dignity in something as ordinary as a commute, and as that young man from JNTU reminded me, it's also an investment in what our people can give back when given the chance. I'm grateful to Hon. PM Sri @narendramodi ji, whose belief in a truly inclusive India has never wavered, and to Hon. CM Sri @ncbn garu, who has worked hard to make that belief real on the ground - in villages, in towns, on routes like the one I travelled today. We have more to do. "Save Kakinada from Pollution" Cancer cases in Andhra Pradesh have more than doubled over the past two decades — rising from about 38,000 in 2005 to nearly 78,000 in 2025. Within this trend, **Kakinada district now carries one of the highest cancer burdens in the state, with around 8,101 reported cases. The 20-year health trend in Andhra Pradesh shows a disturbing pattern. This situation might have been very different if industries strictly followed the environmental norms prescribed by the Central Pollution Control Board. Concerns from parts of the Kakinada industrial belt • Nearly 30% of deaths are linked to COPD and severe respiratory diseases • While we sleep, AQI levels in Kakinada have reportedly touched “Very Poor” peaks (~290) • About 1 in 5 admissions at Government General Hospital Kakinada involve chronic lung disease • Pediatric clinics report spikes in asthma and bronchiolitis during periods of heavy industrial activity Now, large acid plant trial operations are reportedly underway. The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board must ensure: • Transparency in real-time emission data • Strict compliance with pollution control norms • Protection of citizens’ Right to Clean Air At a time when public health indicators are already alarming, visible industrial emissions demand strict regulatory scrutiny. Coromandel International's own CFO (Consent to Operate) order from APPCB — File No. APPCB-11022/97/2021-TEC-CFO-APPCB. The existing CFO lists only DAP Plant stacks (Chimneys 1–7) + Boiler + DG Sets. ❓ Where are the Sulphuric Acid & Phosphoric Acid plant stacks? They are simply NOT in the current consent scope. If these are NEW acid plants - operating without valid consent = potential violation of Sec 21/22, Air Act 1981. The CFO emission table prescribes standards for Particulate Matter, NH3 & Fluoride - parameters relevant to DAP/NPK manufacturing. ❌ NO SO₂ limits prescribed anywhere. SO₂ is THE critical pollutant from sulphuric acid plants. Its absence from the CFO is telling. Now let's look at what the CFO itself MANDATES: Condition 22: Online stack analyzers on ALL process stacks with real-time connectivity to CPCB/APPCB Condition 41: Digital display boards at the plant entrance showing live stack emissions vs. standards Are these working? Are they even installed on the acid plant stacks? Condition 41 is a Supreme Court-mandated requirement. If those display boards at Coromandel Kakinada's entrance are NOT showing real-time emission data right now — That alone is a serious, standalone violation — independent of the visible plume issue. @AP_PCB @CPCB_OFFICIAL — is this being enforced? Schedule A, Condition 1 of the CFO is also clear: Any upset condition causing increased emissions must be immediately reported to APPCB + District Collector/Magistrate. URGENT PUBLIC APPEAL TO @AP_PCB, @CPCB_OFFICIAL & @APDeputyCMO Shri @PawanKalyan garu Sir, Visible emissions were observed from the acid plant stacks of Coromandel International unit inKakinada during the nights of 14th & 15th March 2026, reportedly during trial production. As an Environment Conservationist, I urge the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board and Central Pollution Control Board to take immediate precautionary action in the interest of public health. According to the Andhra Pradesh Cancer Atlas (2021–2025), Kakinada district already has one of the highest cancer burdens in the state with about 8,101 reported cases. In such a sensitive public health context, any visible industrial emissions warrant urgent regulatory scrutiny / Pollution Audit. Legal & Public Health Concerns: • Under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, particularly Sections 21 & 22, industries must comply with emission standards even during trial production. • Visible plumes from acid plant stacks can sometimes indicate inefficiencies in emission control systems, including scrubbing units meant to capture acid mist and fluorides. • Complex fertilizer manufacturing processes may involve emissions of volatile compounds and respiratory irritants, which require strict monitoring. Public Interest Requests In the interest of transparency and public safety, I respectfully request: Immediate stack monitoring and compliance inspection of the newly commissioned phosphoric and sulphuric acid plants. Public disclosure of Real-Time CEMS (Continuous Emission Monitoring System) data for 14th & 15th March 2026.
