A man is seen on CCTV beating a woman allegedly his wife. The man circulating in the video is being identified as Suyash Aggarwal, reportedly the owner of Silvercity, Dehradun. If this is true, this is not a “private matter,” this is domestic violence caught on camera. Where is the action? Where is the arrest? Uttarakhand Police, Dehradun Police what are you doing? Power and money don’t give men the right to beat women. Abuse is a crime. ACT.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar last weekend as a family. We had 8 rooms booked. On Monday evening (Jan 12, around 6:30–7:30 pm), two hotel staff members used a master key to enter one of our rooms (3808). The room had already been cleaned. No one had asked for housekeeping. No one had been informed. My 6-year-old niece walked in right after and found two unknown adults inside the room. She ran out crying. They were not wearing name badges, so we couldn’t even identify who they were. Just think about it, what if someone had been in the shower, changing clothes, or asleep? What if personal belongings had gone missing? What if my niece had gone missing? What if my niece were alone in the room and sexually assaulted by these men? How is it acceptable for anyone to walk into an occupied hotel room like this? What made it worse is that the hotel knew our family was heading out for dinner at that time and that most of our rooms would be empty. When we asked what happened, we were met with shrugs and vague answers about “protocol.” The people we were dealing with, Naveen Singh, security supervisor and Akshay, refused to tell us who the staff were or why they entered. The hotel also refused to share CCTV footage of the incident. Akshay told us that the General Manager, Naveen Yadav, had said, “toh kya ho gaya agar enter ho gaye.” (So what if they entered?) A child walked into a room with two unknown adults inside, and this was the response. This is what pissed us off the most. Not just that it happened, but how casually everyone treated it. Like, this was no big deal. We’re not living in some ideal world. We hear about child sexual abuse, child trafficking, assault, all the time. Parents are already anxious about where their kids are, who they’re around, and what spaces are actually safe. Why were two staff members inside an occupied room? What were they doing there? Who sent them? Under what rule can someone walk into a family’s private space without permission? Why was the hotel justifying it? And till now - no answers. no explanation. no CCTV. no accountability. no apology that means anything. If you’re travelling with family, especially with kids, I would seriously think twice before staying at Hyatt. @Hyatt @hyattjaipur @HyattConcierge @agoda @agodaindia

Today is the darkest day of my life. My beloved son, Agnivesh, left us far too soon. He was just 49 years old, healthy, full of life, and dreams. Following a skiing accident in the US, he was recovering well in Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. We believed the worst was behind us. But fate had other plans, and a sudden cardiac arrest snatched our son away from us. No words can describe the pain of a parent who must bid goodbye to his child. A son is not meant to leave before his father. This loss has shattered us in ways we are still trying to comprehend. I still remember the day Agni was born in Patna on 3 June, 1976. From a middle-class Bihari family, he grew into a man of strength, compassion, and purpose. The light of his mother’s life, a protective brother, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul who touched everyone he met. Agnivesh was many things - a sportsman, a musician, a leader. He studied at Mayo College, Ajmer, went on to set up one of the finest companies Fujeirah Gold, became Chairman of Hindustan Zinc, and earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Yet, beyond all titles and achievements, he remained simple, warm, and deeply human. To me, he was not just my son. He was my friend. My pride. My world. Kiran and I are broken. And yet, in our grief, we remind ourselves that the thousands of young people who work across Vedanta are also our children. Agnivesh believed deeply in building a self-reliant India. He would often say, “Papa, we lack nothing as a nation. Why should we ever be behind?” We shared a dream to ensure that no child sleeps hungry, no child is denied education, every woman stands on her own feet, and every young Indian has meaningful work. I had promised Agni that more than 75% of what we earn would be given back to society. Today, I renew that promise and resolve to live an even simpler life. There was so much life ahead of him. So many dreams yet to be lived. His absence leaves a void for his family and friends. We thank all his friends, colleagues and well-wishers for always being there for him. Beta, you will live on in our hearts, in our work, and in every life you touched. I do not know how to walk this path without you, but I will try carrying your light forward.

@FlySWISS How can confirmed passengers be placed on a waitlist (no seat selected) after they’ve already boarded the first leg of their journey? When asked, the on-duty supervisor said “all airlines can/do overbook.” Still confused—can you explain?

“When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty” Please watch #dhadak2 if you haven’t yet. It’s on Netflix. Also, make youngsters watch it. The realities of the curse of casteism have been captured, directed and acted very well. Brave of director Shazia Iqbal, to talk about the plight of Dalits through the prism of cinema. Kudos Siddhant Chaturvedi, Tripti Dimri and other actors who did absolute justice to their characters.

Watched Dhadak 2 on Netflix with my children. The film powerfully shows how caste, society, and hatred still shape people’s lives. The performances are excellent — especially Vipin Sharma ji, who completely owns his role. Every dialogue feels real and thought-provoking. A strong, honest film that stays with you. Definitely worth watching. 🫡

Thank you. I am glad you read the article. I was very moved by #Dhadak2 and by #Homebound. Folks FYI Dhadak 2 is on Netflix now, and Homebound is in theatres.

@annavetticad ‘s piece today was a reminder that cinema isn’t only about the stories we tell, but the silences we’ve carried for decades. To see #Dhadak2 placed in that reckoning is deeply moving. And today, #Homebound released in theatres — a film by a director I simply adore, #NeerajGhaywan …Rooting for you all the way to the Oscars 🤞
