I teach Spanish. We're reading The House on Mango Street in class. Sandra Cisneros is Mexican American. That's my justification, and I'm sticking to it. The real reason is that grades are already in, two weeks are left, every other teacher is showing a movie, and only one girl raised her hand when I asked who reads for fun. One. So we're reading.
