Are you actually looking for an answer? Axing the tax would cost the government $3.5B in revenue. The ripple effect from lower input costs would boost our economy GDP by $7-$11B. On average, Canada sends $8.8B overseas annually. Answer: Reduce our overseas spending by $3.5B = no lost tax revenue, lower gas prices, boosted economy.

Look up the details on the California High-Speed Rail. Approved in 2008, already spent $15B, and almost nothing to show for it. Original completion estimate was $33B to be completed 2020 Revised estimate $135B, to be completed 2033. Add Indigenous Land complications, most current Canadians won't be alive to see its completion.

The Government started talking about the high speed rail in 1984. From 84 to 2010 almost $600,000,000 was spent on studies. Since 2020 over $4 billion has been spent on planning. Nothing is built. Not a single line of track. This is an epic boondoggle

If you want to see into the future, look at California High-Speed Rail (San Francisco to L.A.) Initial estimate: $33B 18 years and $15B later, almost nothing to show for it. Revised estimate: $135B Eerily similar rail project and kms, same woke polical views, same hollowed out middle classes, same high taxes, same red tape.

@rushgamewin Upgrade YOLOv8 on the COCO dataset for pedestrian count would align well with $RUSH. It would be more entertaining, as you would see different city landmarks, unpredictable human behavior, and possible "did you see that?!" moments.

well, well, well… 🦝 it’s ready. > protocol done. > interface done. > open source. > machine alive. and for the crew that’s been holding this down since early on: +2% of the protocol goes directly to tileholders. because growing alone is slow. with the crew, this thing moves faster. The first markets go live today! this is only the beginning. @rushgamewin

@govt_corrupt And how will they get approval for a high-speed train on Indigenous land? They can't even protect Canadian properties. This is simply a political play to win Terrebonne. Approved or not, we will never see a high-speed train built in our lifetime.

High speed rail from Toronto to Quebec is dumb. It'll easily be a hundred billion dollar, multi-decade disaster. Govt insiders love it because of all the lucrative contracts they'd get. Liberals love it because of the millions they could skim. It's a money laundering project.

@AlderLaneEggs Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But instead of insulting people for likes, why don't you try adding substance. What don't you agree with? Do you truly believe Canada has the best affordability in 10 years?

@PeersPee24176 @adamscochran Good question. The table shows visible taxes. The extra 0.19 cents are hidden taxes (taxes the oil companies must pay, which are passed down to the consumer). Here is the more detailed table...

It’s actually Canada’s trade agreement with the US, where one of Trump’s sticking points was requiring that Canada cannot discount gas prices with its own oil. Even if Canada uses its oil reserves it must be market priced. So yes Canada - you can blame Trump, and should.
JayGen 𝕏 er🇨🇦@JayGenXer

🇨🇦💸To Canadians who are now looking at $2/litre (and rising). Before you blame it on Trump, here's a reminder. Canada has the 3rd largest oil reserves in the world. It's our Liberal Prime Minister who won't allow us to use them. Plus the Prime Minister before him had a decade to prepare for this, but also wouldn’t us to prepare nor prosper 11 years of planned decline! This was NOT by chance!

But is calling out Carney really ridiculous? Let's talk economics... Current average: $1.60/L Taxes/L: $0.55 Gas price without taxes: $1.05/L Had Liberals opened up pipelines, production would have gone up 30%. This would have lowered price per barrel by $10, or $0.05/L. (Gas down to $1.00/L.) With 30% more oil, our currency would strengthen, USD/CAD = ~$1.30, saving ~$0.05/L. (Gas down to $0.95/L) If Canada refined it's own oil instead of buying back from the U.S., gas would go down to $0.85/L. Canadians would save at the pump, groceries, heating, etc. Canada would also decouple themselves from the U.S. (which Liberals have been begging for), have a stronger currency, create thousands of jobs and profit off oil exports. There is a path, but Carney prioritizes Carbon Neutrality and government reliance, not the lives of the Canadian people.

@Mellozzy33 You can call out high gas prices. But if you're going to pretend you can't buy gas to go to the park while you go on a trip, you're going to get called out. Blaming Carney for the price of gas is ridiculous.

10 years of liberal Canadian government didn’t send the price of gas up 20% all over the world in the last 2 weeks. 10 years of liberal government didn’t take the price of oil from $65 a barrel to $110 in the last 2 weeks. You absolute fucking moron.
JBlythe@JC_Blythe

@Coffey4Canada2 No. That’s the cost of 10+ years of liberal government.

@davidclement Look buddy, I buy social and media and see all the background viewership numbers normal people don’t, it wasn’t even that close. Most of Rogan’s audience is in the US and countries other than Canada. So most all the viewers were not Canadians. Infact a very small amount.

A former Liberal staffer calls Poilievre's Joe Rogan appearance "high-risk," citing limited reach and potential brand damage for being on a "misinformation" platform. In contrast, Mark Carney faced little pushback when launching his leadership bid on The Daily Show last year.
