@AciidBraiin @MbarkCherguia I remember in grade three or four learning to use an ink quill and an ink well as we were learning to write. What a horrible mess that made. I'm left-handed, so I would drag my hand through the wet ink as I wrote.

Cursive literally looks like this: ~~~~~~~~ Especially ”minimum”. I can read it, I’m bad at writing it and it becomes ugly. Honestly, cursive is like poetry for the soul if its a beautiful font, but most people don’t write beautifully, they are sloppy or just incapable like me. I would prefer more cursive and typewriter font text on social media posts and in creative writing when it comes to poetry or fiction. There are many good cursive fonts on the second photo. Yet we never use these fonts? Why not? Because people think it would look very messy. Even though the machine produce beautiful letters, easy to read, 100% consistency all the time. If we don’t use our phones and computers to produce cursive text, why the fuck should people do it with their sloppy handwriting? I mean, if someone begs me to do something on a piece of paper and all I can read is this ~~~~~ … Don’t expect me to do anything at all. You might think this slightly longer response take too much time to read, and yet, it would take 3-10 times longer to read and decipher if I would write it in a sloppy cursive style. Sometimes it’s completely unreadable.

@SaffronKim Just a few years earlier than that, I was told that I could be a good clerical worker if I worked harder at my typing skills! It took me 30 years, but I ended up a qualified social worker who could type like the wind!

Just going down memory lane. I used to fill the cigarette machine when I was a teenager. It was one of my many jobs when I worked at a gas station. Cigarettes were fifty cents for a small pack. A can of Pepsi was a quarter. If there were a gas war, gas went as low as fifty cents a gallon. That's 4.54 liters. People would get fifty cents of gas. Those were the days of the full-service pumps. Fill the gas, check the oil, radiator, and windshield washer fluid. Many of the older folks would ask to have their tires checked, which made things really hectic when you have five nozzles filling cars.
