The DSM is fairly useless diagnostically unless you are a cis-het white little boy. The “difficulties” are only difficulties when you look through an allistic lens.

The study that claimed causation has been disproven & the authors of the study acknowledge it wasn’t accurate, nor was there evidence of causation.

Just because it’s referred to as a “disorder” in the DSM doesn’t mean that’s the correct way to categorize it. The DSM is so behind in terms of actual diagnostic criteria, it’s laughable.

It is called Autism Spectrum Disorder because it is a disorder, and for some, not all, families, it is crippling - the demands, the exhaustion, the medical expense.

@cashmag3001 @FakeLRonHubbard @LeadingReport I didn’t “learn to live with it” it is who we are. To my point…we aren’t broken, so the idea of wishing “it on future generations” is a bit dense.

But that doesn't mean that that you should wish it on future generations. Just because you had to walk uphill both ways in the snow doesn't mean you should want kids to.

I never claimed to be speaking for everyone and I don’t feel like I’m “walking uphill both ways” except when allistic society refuses to put in the work to understand.
