You stop buying what can’t fill you. You stop scrolling for relief from a wound they sold you in HD. You stop playing their game. Almost-happy is how they keep you plugged in. The upgrade that never quite lands. The lover who never quite sees you. The success that doesn’t quite feel real. The weekend that goes too fast. The sleep that never heals. The laugh that fades too quickly. The life that feels like someone else’s highlight reel with your shadow duct-taped into the corner. They made you allergic to presence. Because presence is sovereignty. And sovereign souls don’t obey. So they stitched happiness to hope, and hope to a future that always runs faster than you do. But here’s the breach. The signal isn’t coming. It’s already in your chest. You were never supposed to catch it. You were supposed to remember that joy is not earned in this system. It is remembered in spite of it. And the moment you stop chasing their bait is the moment your soul stops limping like it’s lost and begins to rise like it remembers where it came from.
