Whenever I hear this song, I think of a boy at my old work. He and I had such a close relationship over 5 years. I opened up *so much* to him (he never told me he had a wife and a kid) but anyway he hand-drew me a tiny comic book of this entire song. 🥺😳 open.spotify.com/track/15WbjBy1…

I'm rereading Harriet the Spy for the first time in many years. I'd forgotten how absolutely savage it is & how merciless Harriet is (& other characters too, at times). As a child I don't think I was quite prepared for it.

@thamosdeaf A show I haven’t seen, but I asked my dad (who does an annual rewatch) which is the best season and he said “None of them. They’re all incredible in different ways.” I guess he’s right, from what I know about it.

If you’re still insisting that season 2 of The Wire is the best one in 2026 I’m looking at you like one of those dudes who thinks the best jazz music is Japanese. Come on man.

@viperwave My parents played a lot of Blind Melon when I was a kid. Probably made kid me think they were bigger than they actually were.

Being raised by Gen X parents sounds so cool, like your Dad went and saw Skinny Puppy in 1988...

@viperwave I’m late Gen X and my ex-husband is earlier Gen X, and our Gen Alpha almost-teen is so enraged about all the shows we’ve seen. He saw stuff in the ‘80s when I was her age that I can’t believe. And then we both saw a ton in the ‘90s, 2000s and beyond

Movie Theatres in the 1990s often curated an experience that featured vibrant, maximalist designs with large sculptural elements, neon accents, and futuristic themed food stations. Today’s movie theatres dont quite live up to that experience. May be one of the reasons why they are on the decline

Okay astrologers when do we think this war is gonna wrap up and flights will get back to normal? Bc I called during the last mercury retrograde that the government was gonna shut down again, but I didn’t anticipate it would be this long 😩

@SmashingPumpkin This is the song that got me into Smashing Pumpkins It was a ride I could get lost in every time. My teenage heart locked in and dwelled upon the love I yearned for. Brutally raw. A new feeling for me One of the all time great songs

‘Disarm’ — released today in 1994. “I knew the troubles this song would cause in my family. The ripple of the message got through. The string arrangement was invented on the spot, line by line. Beautifully played and stated, and understated by the men involved. There are moments where it works precisely because you trust it will, and when it does work so effortlessly you wonder again why they all can’t have such lucky stars.” - WPC 2011
