Once it begins, and it will at some point, the process of rebuilding this country will take us a while & will cost us an arm and a leg. The damage we’ve done to this country’s constitution is immense & will require blood & sweat to fix. The regime has done its part in the destruction of this country’s constitution using MPs as mercenaries - that’s been well documented. When reconstruction & reclaiming of the constitution begins, we will need to sit down & go through it bit by bit to make sure it goes back to its original format and purpose which is to serve as the supreme law of the nation without fear or favour. Right now it’s just there to serve the interests of the regime. The Constitution is supposed to establish and define the structure of government, distribute political power, and guarantee fundamental rights to citizens. Everyday that passes it keeps getting tinkered with to accommodate the selfish desires of the NRM. Now if NRM needs anything, all they have to do is pencil it in, get together in kyankwanzi, exchange shillings, and then go to Parliament to make a bit of noise and have it endorsed. That can’t possibly be good. All this messing about with the constitution is going to cost us a lot. We have sold our constitution to the highest bidder & unfortunately for us, the highest bidder does not have Uganda’s interest at heart. They have their own selfish interests at heart. A time is coming when we shall need to buy back the Constitution - fellow citizens, we are going to pay through the nose.

Today I have accepted that the Leader of Opposition is indeed for the people, hon. Joel Senyonyi was single handedly battling against the numerous NRM MPs with the backing of the speaker, raising multiple objections against the Sovereignty bill, I know it will definitely be passed since the opposition have no numbers but we shall always remember your efforts sir.🙏

Hon. Dr. Gilbert Olanya, as the people of Acholi, we are so proud of you sir, you stood firm and kept on raising objections in order to be allowed to read the minority report and rejected the Sovereignty bill in its entirety, the NRM MPs acting like dogs running to their own death got a good fight from you and other opposition colleagues today.🙏
