@AssetTraveller Looking ahead now. The first month of Q3 will be 1000000 b/d production at very strong pricing and exceptional refining margins. By the end of Q3 the long wait for WestWhite Rose production begins with estimates of additional 45,000 bl/d by end of 2028 for CVE. The beat goes on!

@PeteK66669 @RazorOil I respect your opinion. My thought process is that they sold those refineries in order to cash flow the MEG purchase which was a lot bigger gain than the loss of those 2 refineries. If management had your crystal ball they may have been able to handle the purchase without selling

@PeteK66669 @RazorOil If it consoles you. The 2 refineries CVE sold raised cash for lowering the debt on the MEG asset purchase.

@RazorOil Everyone makes choices that don’t look good in hind sight. Wouldn’t say CVE selling 255 mbpd of refining capacity to P66 was all that smart in today’s eyes.

@RazorOil I liked CVE well before the MEG addition but love it since then adding 50% more shares since which made it my largest ever equity holding. Kudos to the great decisions the CVE management team has made!

Did some numbers so you don’t have to. That Q3 2025 $CVE.TO acquisition of $MEG.TO at roughly $82k per flowing barrel could be possibly paid off with free funds flow of 2026 only. Q1 was $2.2B, Q2 estimating close to $3B so already $5.2B, another $3B split between Q3 and Q4 gets to $8B - $8.5B range. This asset will produce oil at current rate for at least 30 years based on 1P estimates only from my calculations. Sometimes it looks like one overpays…but they actually don’t. 🫡🪒

@RazorOil I'm still patiently waiting (if there is such a thing) for West White Rose production to kick in by end of Q3. Now that they are in the drilling stage after building the infrastructure stage in notice Atlantic capex dropped from H1 2025 of $480 mil to $225 mil so down over 1/2.

Mission accomplished. Also $CVE.TO free funds flow at $3.78B is very wild friends. Unbelievable…if H2 FFF is like H1 the implied yield is >15% Congratulations to all. 🫡🪒

@RazorOil Even CRA should be happy. Corporate taxes in first 6 months jump from $465 mil to $1.586 bil or $1.1 bil more! Not sure if that number is inclusive of the $25 mil buyback tax.

@XBanker4 @RazorOil one more 1/4 at this rate should get the net debt to below the magic $4 bil where 100% can go to S/H. So with that assumption Q4 should have higher % of buybacks. Net debt started 2026 @ $8.292 bil in 6 months $2.904 bil has been paid off. Now $5.388 bil

@RazorOil I know this is just a snipet and they have capacity to do even more now but look at this: (set aside minor share issue). Approx. share counts(M) Jan25=1.83. Issued for MEG=0.14. Buyback Jan25 to Jun26 = 0.125. Share count Jun 26 = 1.85. Please CVE, go max buyback now.

@garquake @z_or_zee I can't handle triggering more cap gains in 2026 to relinquish 24% of the shares on the gains. Last friday was so very tempting though. So I'm just going to be satisfied with ownership and subsequent buybacks and dividends on CVE, SU, ATH, WCP and a mix of most Cnd pipes.

@AaronHectorCFP Does this not entail putting tax paid dollars into the spousal rrsp to be taxed at ~ 50% down the road with life expectancy on the end of the rope?

In the context of 2026 year-end tax planning discussions, you never seem to hear much about the 85+ populations who are still sitting on RRSP contribution room, while married to their much younger 71 year-old spouse. 5 months left for that final spousal rrsp contribution opportunity!

@z_or_zee The problem with die hard oil guys is only see what they want/over exposed and less experience - most of world data well is from countries lets say not real reliable and considered gospel by mass - add in some anti USA and also cheer leading terrorist murderers blind as bats

@NBCNews Worth being precise — this is a refining crisis. The drone strikes keep hitting the plants that turn crude into diesel and gasoline, not the oilfields. So Russia keeps exporting barrels while running short of its own fuel at home. The pressure shows up in refined-product margins.

@LOWO64 @RazorOil @energyburrito @garquake @BubleQe As it turned out my thesis on the integrated producers SU and CNQ vs CNQ in the past1.5 years has rewarded much higher value than CNQ. Same can be said for PEY vs TOU. I still consider SU to be vertically integrated without nat gas production. He could not agree on that?

@LOWO64 @RazorOil @energyburrito @garquake @BubleQe As I promoted SU and CVE and PEY and backed it up with my reasoning he kinda flipped out with what I considered very inappropriate caricatures I put up with it longer than I should have. He posted a lot of good points with detailed graphics but too much TOU.

@RazorOil @LOWO64 @energyburrito @garquake @BubleQe Curious why BubleQ? I had to block him when he posted weird Shit . That was well over a year ago. He was so opposed to buying any refineries. It was all TOU and CNQ. SU and CVE were a complete no go zone for him back then.

@Nick_duCat Ukraine repeated drone strikes on Russian refinery infrastructure seems to have more impact on the world energy markets than the Iran war. An importer rather than an exporter of refined petroleum products. Crack spreads are such an important profit point for my 2 largest. SU CVE
