Just for fun; Estimated target prices at the end of 2026 for WTI at a stable $95 (in CAD, on TSX):
1. Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ.TO)
Low-cost leader (breakeven ~$40).
FCF per share could double vs.
low scenario.
Calculated target price: CAD 85-95 (strong buyback potential + growing dividends).
2. Suncor Energy (SU.TO)
Integrated model (refinery captures margins, crack spread). Reduced breakeven target of ~$38. Very resilient and cash-rich at a high price.
Calculated target price: CAD 110-125.

@MarcNixon24 The Federal government is poised to rake in a windfall of extra taxes on the extra profits the Energy Producers will be paying taxes on. Thing is a lot of that revenue is generated on sales outside of Canada to the US and China. You have to love that kind of tax!

@MPelletierCIO Not hard to visualize Carney’s think tank going in that direction when they should be rubber stamping another pipeline to Prince Rupert along with dropping the large vessel limitation. Think of the jobs and future taxation even at present day rates.

Replacing the production over time with lower cost in situ and also much better environmental footprint. Try as hard as Carney can to dismantle western Canadian energy it is so necessary for government coffers

@BeegJj So: RJ Boyz attended the $su Investor day. Clearly v. impressed w/Rich's plans. Big bump to TP. They had increased from $72 to $93 on 30 March. Today, they bumped it an additional $11 to $104. I hope you're in bed dreaming of large dividend increases...

It would incredibly prudent if he was to also state this "FACT" while he has the opportunity for the leftwing bnn executives to hear.

@ysteve747 SU has had a great run up but justified. As a satisfied shareholder I look farther ahead and really like what was said about the 3 year plan. Specifically the US $5 reduction in corporate WTI break even per barrel to only $38 by 2028. Also 400k bpd future capacity @ 30k flowing!
