I'm excited to share that Morpho secured $50m in funding led by Ribbit Capital. There was also participation from @a16z @coinbase @variantfund @PanteraCapital and 50+ others who will help guide the future of Morpho. From a student project to one of the fastest-growing and now premier DeFi protocols, Morpho has come a long way. In just 2 years, it went from 0$ to $3B in deposits and evolved into a fully independent financial infrastructure. It's sometimes hard to believe that crypto actually has a positive impact on our world given the number of scams, hacks, insider trading, etc. It's true, from time to time I personally wonder whether this is a legit space. And then I remember that this is the only tech that: - provides basic financial access to everyone on earth with just an internet connection - brings back power into the hands of end users - removes intermediaries that only capture value but don't create any - brings back transparency in a system that is a black box etc. So yes, crypto sometimes has a bad look, but it's a critical piece of technology that must be developed. And it's critical that great teams with high agency and strong values continue building in that space no matter what the general opinion thinks. Someday we'll realize that crypto's positive impact will have been dramatically overlooked.

Love that quote bcs (a) i love planes, especially the blackbird had such a vibe but also bcs (b) i think that the only moat for a small team is the speed at which it executes.

Just read The Book of Elon from @EricJorgenson. I think it's easily in my top 3 books about entrepreneurship now. If I had to condense the whole philosophy in 1 word, it would be: pragmatism.

It has become rather “easy” to tokenize assets. The gap lies in making them truly composable with DeFi. -> how do you enforce the same compliance rules? -> how to you leverage/unleverage positions? -> how do you liquidate positions? what's the redemption time? who has the capital required to perform this? -> how do you price the asset? There are so many questions to answer... This explains the lag between tokenization and DeFi adoption (eg bonds $15B tokenized, only ~5% in DeFi..) The great thing is that many teams are working on it at the moment, like @grovedotfinance, @3f_xyz, @upshift_fi, etc. I'm truly optimistic we're going to solve most of those problems by EOY.

Every small problem in a company becomes a big pain in a few months if not fixed. Like a breach in a stone, next winter the cold will blow it up. You'd better fix the breach now.
