@martin_casado @ankrgyl a more generalisable model that makes sense to me is this -
low throughput + high latency = low cpu, low memory
high throughput + high latency = low cpu, high memory
high throughput + low latency = high cpu, high memory
low throughput + low latency = high cpu, low memory

@ankrgyl Hahah. Such a database view of the world. The networking version is latency and throughput.

people don't realize how slow s3 is. the difference between daytona and e2b in this report is about a single call to s3.
top of mind because i'm currently ruthlessly eliminating any interaction with aws services (including s3) in the path that mounts an archil disk.
super critical for agent workloads that need to mount an archil file system when sandboxes start.

It's benchmark Friday and @daytonaio wins out today.

@jamesacowling towards the end you mention "learn(ing) about clean design and architecture". what are the ways you recommend for learning it?

My thoughts on hiring, engineering culture, why I don't like rubrics or work trials, filtering for aptitude, and orienting your career around long-term growth

Back in December I sat down with @jamesacowling the CTO of @convex to give me his back story and thoughts on AI and hiring and as always his answers didn't disappoint!

@_mnpw In all sincerity - did you try asking them? (Which also doubles up as a nice compliment to the cafe/staff)

@yochowgwo very cool! is loading a branch equivalent to replaying the log of commands associated with it?
English

Most agent sandboxes only allow external control via APIs, even though modern agents already know when to rewind or branch.
So I built a runtime that lets agents control execution themselves:
