Took me some time to respond because I am at church this Sunday morning. But, after reading through Ava's accusations and the whole thread on Kirsche, I agree with you on the main point. That "adjacent to white supremacy" stuff is baseless garbage vague definitions, guilt by loose association and vibes, refusing to accept any denial, then acting like it's some profound observation. Yes it is a shitty, unfalsifiable tactic. If flipping the exact same logic back on them does show how it feels to be on the receiving end, and yeah, it highlights the hypocrisy perfectly nice job Leaf. I did not read Ava post before yours as I have her muted 🥃 but, I am not afraid say she isn't right here. As much as I disagree with much of Kirsche reteroic she does not deserve such accusations. I think the tactic itself is objectionable no matter who uses it. That said, even though I agree with a lot of your other points and critiques on this activist overreach, I still think you don't have very good thoughts for trans people with the "trans terrorist adjacent / aiding pedophiles and groomers" framing. Most trans folks I've actually met and talked to in the community (dozens at this point) are just regular people trying to live their lives without hurting anyone. They're not terrorists, not mass shooters, and not predators. But I believe you actually know that and just hyperbolic to prove your point which I actually admire here. The problems worth criticizing are specific activist rhetoric, inflammatory stuff like debates over youth transitions/sports/biology, and the actual bad actors. (Even though I agree with much of that stuff) It doesn't land as truth seeking when it sweeps up normal people who aren't involved in any of that. You should have been more specific like Ava was to Kirsche instead of pointing out a community. We can call out real patterns and bad ideology with evidence without doing the "everyone on that side is tainted by adjacency" thing. The hypocrisy of the tactic is real though Ava's version was weak I am disappointed in that tbh I thought she was a better debater.
