Special administration of Thames Water is affordable. The Conservative government had a plan to cut 40% of Thames Water's debts. We can cut more. But EVEN IF this government pays off all of Thames Water's £17bn debts, this would be 'trivial' for the bond markets.

It is an uncomfortable, rarely discussed, truth that the things local councils do actually make it harder to meet #climate objectives.
