@atrupar 10 years ago, I visited the Ridgewell airfield in England where my dad was based in WW2. He was 22, a B17 bomber pilot who received the DFC in 1944. A British citizen literally told me that England would be speaking German if not for my hero dad from Brooklyn who flew 35 times.
