@ahmedali1928274 We are all tribal by default, we all see everything from our tribal lenses. It’s obvious she was referring to her tribe. That’s why I corrected her. Why do you think I’m promoting the good work of the former PM. It’s what we all do so let’s all drop the masks @mari_ah 😂😂

There would not have been #Djibouti without #Somalia! Here, Cabdirizaq X/Xuseen,like his predecessors Cumar Carte Qaalib and Cabdiraxman Caabi Faarax giving hell to #France about the independence of #Djibouti.May Allah have all you in his Janah.Where are their names in #Djibouti?

Abdirazak Haji Hussein, Somalia’s Ambassador to the UN on Djibouti Independence in 1976. SNM didn’t even exist in the 70s, let alone today’s Somaliland.

This is the former president of Kenya, Jomme Kenyatta, who was interviewed in 1961 and said that his country wanted independence, just as Somaliland gained independence in 1960. Republic of somaliland ✊👇

@KainPalor We’d be here all day as everyone has their own version of the history. If everybody was balanced with the truth then I don’t think Somalis would be in today’s dire situation.

@Mesut1OO Yeah, it wasn't. But historically speaking the name of that government wasn't Somalia it was the Somali Republic. Also, SNM didn't just happen, so tell the complete story.

@AdamNyc The first political faction against dictatorship started in 1976 with SODAF which was later renamed to SSDF. SNM was formed in 1981/2. Yes you’re right in that these factions contributed to deterring French Somaliland from joining the union.

Snm was formed in 1980which is only 2 years after Djibouti independence but afar and ciise in Djibouti 100% saw what’s going on to their brother in modern day Somaliland and the mass protest and the complete unfairness in governance which probably was a huge factor of them not joining

I don’t think you’ve read much history, but let me educate you a little bit. Before the Somali National Movement (SNM) was formed, and leading up to Djibouti’s independence in 1977, fighters from British Somaliland (now Somaliland) played a role in supporting the Djiboutian independence movement. They teamed up with local groups like the Front for the Restoration of Unity and Democracy (FRUD) and the Union for the Liberation of Djibouti (ULD) to resist French colonial rule. The Isaaq people from British Somaliland sent volunteers and fighters to support the Djiboutian resistance, driven by a Pan-Somali sense of unity and the shared goal of independence across the region. This was part of a larger struggle against colonial powers in the Horn of Africa at the time.
